The famous Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant reopened fully renovated. Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña, now features an open-view demonstration kitchen and seating for up to 104 guests. Overlooking the El Yunque National Forest and the River Course, is a family-friendly venue, known for its authentic Puerto Rican cuisine favorites and spectacular scenery. Located on the Rio Mar Clubhouse’s second floor. This new restaurant offers handcrafted cocktails, artisanal beers and light bites at Iguanas Bar. The mind behind this well known restaurant, Chef Jorge Cátala with over 15 years of experience makes sure to bring the highest quality products, including fresh lobsters & fish from local fisherman’s. Also, his love to the local agriculture brings to the table the freshest and finest dishes including organic chicken, cage free eggs, hydroponic greens, among others.                                                                         We had a lovely meal at Iguanas for our last night of vacation. Our reservation was at 6 pm and the place was empty - we would go later next time. We ordered an appetizer of garlic shrimp (delicious), a carafe of wine (should have gotten a bottle), and there was a couple of good rolls on the table with a chimichurri type dipping sauce. Then, we ordered the arroz con pollo and the salmon with a side of yucca mofongo as entrees. All very good. If you are in your 60’s + (as we are), my suggestion would be to order an appetizer or two and only one entree to share as portions are very generous. Other than that, a perfect evening.

                                                                        Local specialties prepared with imagination. The food quality and taste was superb. Service staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions about nearby activities. Restaurant setting is very picturesque.
