The famous Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant reopened fully renovated. Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña, now features an open-view demonstration kitchen and seating for up to 104 guests. Overlooking the El Yunque National Forest and the River Course, is a family-friendly venue, known for its authentic Puerto Rican cuisine favorites and spectacular scenery. Located on the Rio Mar Clubhouse’s second floor. This new restaurant offers handcrafted cocktails, artisanal beers and light bites at Iguanas Bar.                                                                         Pedro was our server and he was great, going over all the ingredients in dishes we had questions on. The food was some of the best we've had in Puerto Rico and artistically displayed. Save room for some amazing desserts. Bring cash to tip your servers. As a former restaurant worker, this is highly appreciated by servers. The ambience is very nice and we had a great view in a corner table overlooking the golf course. Every person we came into contact with was very friendly and helpful. Tip: if it's your first time staying at Rio Mar, (It was our first stay at Ocean Villas) you can grab a shuttle at the Lobby level floor, just outside the front doors. Returning shuttles stop at Iguanas every 10-15 minutes to bring you back. (Don't forget to tip your hard working shuttle drivers) Definitely worth a stop at this lovely restaurant if you're staying at Rio Mar.

                                                                        Salmon was phenomenal and so was our server Ettenaesh! She made a great experience even more wonderful! Highly recommend and ask for Ettenaesh!

                                                                        I wanted to like the place. Our server was very kind, and it was not his fault. However, I have a soy allergy—one of the top 8 allergens in the US, so not unheard of. Yet *everything* was cooked in soybean oil (vegetable oil containing soy). That is a very cheap, industrial grade oil, so shouldn’t even be used in a fine dining establishment. They were able to cook me a steak in the end, but it was the most expensive option on the menu and I was not able to have *any* of the carb/starches on offer. For what I paid, I should have been taken care of a little more or the restaurant should have been able to be a little more flexible in accommodating a common allergy.

                                                                        Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña at the Wyndham Rio Mar exceeded all expectations! The food was absolutely excellent, and the service was just as impressive. The filet was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The arroz con pollo was beautifully prepared and incredibly delicious. Everything from the presentation to the taste was spot on. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!
