Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. Start your meal off with an Italian style inspired cocktail and remember to save room for all of your favorite Italian homemade desserts to complement your dinning experience.

This was our first time at Il Corso and we will definitely be back. The whole experience was amazing. The staff friendly and helpful. My husband and I have dietary restrictions and the chef created a meal for us, amazing. The food was absolutely delicious with a nice ambience.

Nice wine list, the special was lobster ravioli- excellent. Attentive service, not too much, not too little, always there when you need them. Impressive building. We are coming back for lunch.

Fab food, particularly all 3 appetizers we ordered. The lobster pasta would have been much better if the lobster tail would have been cooked much less by pop says was perfect Al dente and the tomato sauce was delish! We split one delicious cannoli for dessert. We had a bottle of their Lambrusco for dinner; it went well with every course. Service was impeccable an our waitress did a wonderful job! We come once a year and hope to visiting again next year.

Il Corso is now our favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. We have live here year round for seven years and have become increasingly disappointed with the city's restaurants. Poor service, overpriced wine and uninteresting entrees seem to have become the norm. However Il Corso is an exception. We dined there last night for my husband's birthday and had a exceptional dinner. We were seated quickly by a friendly and professional hostess and were quickly served water. A FREE basket of bread arrived. In many upscale Palm Spring restaurants a small bread basket costs $10. A friendly server explained the entrees and the specials. We ordered a split of Prosecco and an order of fried calamari. The calamari was slightly overcooked but otherwise fine. Our entrees of lasagna and Tonnarelli Aragosta (pasta with Maine lobster) were wonderful. The service was paced perfectly. And: we even were given another FREE bread basket. The restaurant provided a comp. birthday dessert. Il Corso is busy but not particularly noisy and tables are sufficiently separated that you are not hearing an argument from nearby diners. Reservations are definitely a good idea as the wait for a table for those without a reservation was 90 minutes. Prices are relatively affordable, service and ambiance are exceptional.

Our service was good, efficient but not real friendly. I was disappointed they removed veal parmigiana from the menu and would not let me special order it. The Caeser salad was good, very cold, but lacking in prosciutto. The lasagna was boring, not much meat or spice. My wife's Cioppino was very good. We had a nice table in the corner. When the restaurant is full, it is quite noisy.

My octopus salad was a bit slimy. The top of the octopus was grilled, but the bottom was slimy. Like it had been sitting too long after being grilled. The lasagna was good. The service was friendly, but when the server became the bar tender too, it was difficult to get his attention. Took awhile to get the check. And, the menu is expensive. So for the cost of the dishes compared to the quality of the experience, I give it 3 stars.
