“Girasole” stands for sunflower in Italian. A flower that grows in abundance in fields all across 4 different provinces in northern Italy. A classic northern Italian trattoria with daily fresh ingredients & house made pasta dishes served w/ stellar service & exceptional wine & specialty drinks. Providing our guests the best in Italian cuisine we have to offer with a combination of 50 years of experience.                                                                   This restaurant is amazing. It is the most authentic Italian food we have ever tasted so far in the United States. It is for sure our favorite when we feel like having some food that reminds us home. Their saffron risotto is better than my mom’s! Pappardelle alla bolognese, tiramisu and risotto con ossobuco are definitely recommended. Service is great, they make you feel welcomed and at home. Good job guys!

                                                                  We really enjoyed this place. We got the Tre Polentine, which were 3 mini polenta topped with 3 different toppings. We got one of their Specials appetizer, which was a thick focaccia w sauce and melted cheese on top. We also shared the Tagliolini al Limone and they even plated it on 2 separate dishes for us, instead of having us do it. The little nice touches. Recommend.

The food is amazing and it’s just the right mix of quiet and popular to make the ambiance great. The service is always friendly and prompt. So glad these guys are in my neighborhood!

                                                                  We went to Il Girasole for New Year's Eve dinner. The restaurant was full, with every table occupied on both levels. This did not impact the service at all, which was stellar. Our server was attentive and helpful but did not rush us to order and move on so they could turn the table. The food was divine! We started with one of the evening's special, fried zucchini blossoms. Outstanding! We also had the meatballs, and they were OK but not as hot as they might have been. This is the only thing I can say that is less than 100% positive. Our main dishes were a gourmet diner's delight. I had another evening special, a veal chop served with truffle sauce and risotto. I pray that this will be added to the main menu as it was truly extraordinary. My husband had the osso buco, served with saffron risotto and he raved. Our friend had the pork chops with risotto, and he said it was some of the best pork he's had. All three main dishes were cooked and presented perfectly, with very generous portions at prices that I find to be very reasonable for the quality. We shared a lemon sorbet and a tiramisu for dessert, both delicious. The wine list is not extensive, but they had some good bottles at fair prices. The dining rooms, both main floor and upstairs, manage to feel intimate without feeling crowded. We also commented on how the rooms were not overly loud, enabling people to enjoy conversations without having to shout at their dining companions. Run, don't walk to Il Girasole. You'll be glad you do!

                                                                  We absolutely adore this place. Food is always good. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. They’re also really good with kids. Christian the owner is always such a sweet heart and remembers us every time we come in. We recommend this place to everyone!
