Insalata's Restaurant is moving into it's 28th year of the community minded restaurants in San Anselmo. Insalata's receives Bib Gourmand from Michelin for it's 15th year in a row.
Our goal at Insalata's has always been to bring luscious Mediterranean food, gracious service and a warm atmosphere to our diners. For over 28 years we have shared this experience of intimate dining and joyful celebrations in a variety of ways. First and foremost as a fine dining restaurant with our beautiful private Siena room in which to sit and relax and enjoy a meal. We also offer take out dining for those days when time is of the essence, or catered affairs where we bring great food and staff into your home or venue. Our guests have become family and we have grown together in the community in which we all live and work. Everyone at Insalata's is extremely proud to be a part of this extended "village" family.

Broccolini/trumpet mushroom appetizer was great. Pork chop over cooked. Vegetable Tagine was meh.

We’ve been dining at Insalatas for almost 25 years and amazingly it just keeps getting better. Our food and drinks were outstanding, as was the service. There are so few “white table cloth” restaurants left- finding one as good as Insalatas, that is reasonably priced with no extra surcharges seems like a miracle. Others must share our view as it was packed on a routine Sunday night. Best restaurant in Marin

We have dined at Insalata over the years at least 20 times. This was the first entree I found unappetizing. The gnocchi were too small and the dish with the lamb bites just didn’t come together in an harmonic fashion. Sorry. We will still go back.

Moved up here to Fairfax two years ago and have been meaning to try this place. Finally got in for a Xmas dinner with my employees. Food was fantastic. Just went back last night with my wife and just as good. I think it’s the best restaurant in Marin (overall Marin is pretty disappointing).

From the time we entered the front door until we departed, we experienced best in class service. The host sat us promptly, the waiter was quick to let us know what was new on the menu, and the servers brought out beautifully plated dishes. All with wide smiles. As for the food…5 star. Little gem salad dressing was incredible, and the Pork Chop was killer. All the above is consistent every time we have been here.
