Insalata's Restaurant is moving into it's 28th year of the community minded restaurants in San Anselmo. Insalata's receives Bib Gourmand from Michelin for it's 15th year in a row.
Our goal at Insalata's has always been to bring luscious Mediterranean food, gracious service and a warm atmosphere to our diners. For over 28 years we have shared this experience of intimate dining and joyful celebrations in a variety of ways. First and foremost as a fine dining restaurant with our beautiful private Siena room in which to sit and relax and enjoy a meal. We also offer take out dining for those days when time is of the essence, or catered affairs where we bring great food and staff into your home or venue. Our guests have become family and we have grown together in the community in which we all live and work. Everyone at Insalata's is extremely proud to be a part of this extended "village" family.

    The food was delicious, the service not so much. Our waitperson was pretty nonexistent and it wasn’t busy at lunch at all. For some reason we were a group of seniors trying to have a celebration and they sat us right next to a small group with very active small children running around our table. The mothers didn’t seem to care. Not sure why were placed there when the whole restaurant was pretty empty. That and the disinterested server made us feel invisible. The food was delicious as always.

    Great food. The eggplant fries are amazing! The bavette steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the peppermint tea was some of the best I’ve had.

    Lamb burger was outstanding. Fatoush salad lacked lemon or vinegar and salt and was a lot of lettuce but not an incredibly exciting flavor. Amazing take out counter!!

    A;ways a treat to have a meal at Inslalada's and this time we introduced two folks who didn't know of Insalada's existence. So a double treat!

    Dinner was very tasty. The dessert was listed as apple tartin, but was a very contrived version. I think in general a good choice for Marin dinning, but still is not spectacular!

    Service was professional and on point with great recommendations! Food was excellent. A bit noisy since we were near the kitchen.
