At the Island Way Grill, we're all about fresh fish. Our own boats make daily trips to the middle grounds to bring back fresh tuna, mahi, snapper and other local varieties. No long-line fish here-just hook, rod, and reel. If it's any fresher, it is still in the gulf. Most of our cooking revolves around our oak and citrus fired open pit, which sears at an extremely high temperature and adds a delicious smokiness to everything grilled. You'll find an abundance of fresh herbs and only the best quality seasonings. Fresh vegetables are used throughout our menu, and all soups and sauces are hand-prepared. We are also proud to provide an excellent selection of the worlds best oysters flown in fresh for your enjoyment. In addition to our menu, our chefs prepare a varied assortment of daily specials that always add an element of interest to our every-day offerings.

    The Island Ways Grill always is one of the highlights of our Spring Training trips! What a great variety of food, everything was top notch. Service was excellent and personable, and the atmosphere is great. Pair all the above with a very reasonable price and we couldn’t ask for more.

    Had another great dinner at Island Way Grill Were able to sit outside which was very comfortable. Sushi boat was amazing and great value. Hall Cabernet by the glass was a nice touch.

    Overall good rating. Birthday early dinner before the FOREIGNER concert so we tried the early bird specials. Not something we are accustomed to do but decent selection. Birthday card on table for my wife was appreciated. She had the pork chop. Potatoes. I had the surf and turf (shrimp). It was generally pretty good. Just smaller portions (filet was tiny and with tiny “bay” shrimp that were ok. Pork chop was large and tasty. ) Cocktails from bar menu were Ok. The old fashioned was sweeter than it should be and almost clear color. Would not get another one. Seems they push through those early bird dinners swiftly and a lot seemed premade and had a feeling if not flavor of institutional cooking (think : good cafeteria). We sat near indoor entrance and view was of people going in / out outside. Near where wait staff huddled and it was loud. So sit outside if weather permits or inside the dining room. Service was good but them moving quickly was emphasized by plates being dropped (loud) vs placed on our table.

    Location, ambiance, food are all great. Reservation system is very poor and a huge negative. Both nights we had a reservation, with a request (offered as part of the reservation) to eat outdoors. When we arrived we were told outside was first come, first served. We waited 45 minutes to be seated. So basically there is no reservation system unless you want to eat inside - which is just not at all the reason you go to this beautiful spot. Just an FYI for future guests.

    Overall experience and service from the bartenders and our server was great. A few details that were lacking. I asked for a quiet table for my wife and I when I made the reservation. I do not believe this was noticed as we were seated in probably the loudest area of the restaurant. We ordered Oyster Rockefellar for an appetizer, a different waiter or food runner brought out a half dozen of raw oysters instead. Our waiter did notice it, apologized and brought out what we ordered on the house. She was great! I ordered a steak to be cooked Pittsburgh style/medium rare. The steak came out with butter on it and was not warm enough to melt the butter the cook spread on it with no char at all. Again our server was on top of this and got it taken care of right away. For a restaurant of this caliber and price point a cook should know how to properly prepare a Pittsburgh style steak.
