At the Island Way Grill, we're all about fresh fish. Our own boats make daily trips to the middle grounds to bring back fresh tuna, mahi, snapper and other local varieties. No long-line fish here-just hook, rod, and reel. If it's any fresher, it is still in the gulf. Most of our cooking revolves around our oak and citrus fired open pit, which sears at an extremely high temperature and adds a delicious smokiness to everything grilled. You'll find an abundance of fresh herbs and only the best quality seasonings. Fresh vegetables are used throughout our menu, and all soups and sauces are hand-prepared. We are also proud to provide an excellent selection of the worlds best oysters flown in fresh for your enjoyment. In addition to our menu, our chefs prepare a varied assortment of daily specials that always add an element of interest to our every-day offerings.

    Lived here for years and first time eating there. Food was ok but out of a lot of items including: stone crab, grouper, and the sour dough bread. I understand they try to local source but out of several items for a 6:30 dinner service? Food was good but not great. Cesar salad was very bland and lobster bisque had mostly bisque with little to no lobster. Waiter was ok, food came out before our appetizers and it was taken back to the kitchen I assume to bask under a heat lamp. Cost was a little steep for what was provided in my opinion.

    Ashleigh was a delightful server. The food was excellent and served quickly. The prices were very reasonable and our view was beautiful.

    Had reservation but still had to wait. Unfortunately, normal for this restaurant to make people wait. Server was great but waited an hour for food and it didn’t all come out together. Noise level was horrible. Couldn’t carry on a conversation. Ran out of normal bread so substituted cheap dinner rolls. Bad experience.

    Island way never disappoints. Every time I come thru Tampa/Clearwater I find a way to eat here. Always fresh always delicious!

    We’ve been to the restaurant several times and suggested it as a good spot to meet friends visiting Clearwater from Out of state. We decided we will not go back, service was poor ( assuming understaffed). Our server tried hard and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks and food were slow to come out. Dinner was served without the salads until we asked about them. Again server apologized. Overall it seemed chaotic, understaffed and generally not an enjoyable atmosphere.
