J Carver's Oyster Bar & Chophouse features market fresh oysters & premium wood grilled steaks. Nestled in West 6th District of Downtown Austin, John Carver, Owner and Chef delivers an elevated classic fine dining experience featuring a gorgeous raw & oyster bar and intimate dining experience.

In order to honor all reservations booked, we ask that all bookings adhere to our suggested dining time frame. Please contact our reservationist if you have additional questions. Our time frames are as follows
2 people - 2 hours
3 people - 2 hr 15 minutes
4-5 people - 2 hr 30 minutes
6-7 people - 2hr 45 minutes
8+ people - 3 hours

We celebrated our anniversary at J Carber, and it was truly magical. The ambiance was intimate, with dim lighting and soft music setting the perfect mood. The service was outstanding; our server was attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations. A handwritten anniversary note and complimentary dessert added a personal touch that made us feel special. J Carver is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience that we can't wait to relive for our next celebration! Highly recommended!

A staple for us; sit at the bar and have an amazing drink, then delicious crab cake with salad, followed by steak and fish. Best meal in Austin, with the best atmosphere

Food was alright! Tasty but nothing crazy. The best part of all of it was the service from Chris. We love a server who cares!!! If you go, you have to ask for Chris. He truly made our experience special for our anniversary!!!

We were a party of 14 and the service and staff were awesome. We had 3 littles with us and they were treated incredibly well. All the food was fabulous 1
