J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato chips & Chocolate Velvet Cake. The cozy atmosphere includes fire side dining, rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy a quiet table or host a large party.     Upscale restaurant with a great atmosphere and food that will beg your tastebuds to comeback! Service is top of the line! Do yourself a favor and eat here if you like a high level dining experience !

    Top notch service. Amazing smoked old fashioned. One of the best steaks you will ever eat, charred and cooked to perfection ! 10of 10.

    Very good food. All steaks were cooked perfectly. Smoked Old Fashioned was great. Scalloped and Poblano potatoes cooked in cast iron were delicious! Very generous slice of carrot cake looks amazing but we brought it home and haven’t eaten it yet.

    The resraurant was fairly empty but the server still seemed bored and was painfully slow and unavailable. She didn't tell us about the dinner or drink specials and forgot to bring the steak knives before the steaks. The steaks and crabcakes were outstanding, but the vegetables were overcooked and soggy. I'm hoping this was just a one-time miss.

    J. Gilbert's is one of my favorite restaurants and we go often. With that being said, this was the worst experience we have had dining there. Our reservation was for the bar area, which we prefer, and it was about half full while we were dining. Our first round of drinks had one of them made wrong, our meals came out before our salads, sides were missing from the plates and had to be requested twice, we had to ask for steak knives from someone else's waitress, we had to send one of the steaks back to be cooked as requested and did not get a bag to put our containers of left overs in. All of these things never happen when we dine there, so I am speaking from experience with how this restaurant normally runs. The staff were all very nice and apologized several times. We hope this was a bad night and do plan to return.

    Everything was fantastic. My husband had the seafood platter and I had a ribeye with mushrooms and au gratin potatoes. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious. Our server, Ian, was a delight and we enjoyed the entire dinner.

    This is the second time we have been here. Both times the steaks have been undercooked. When you are playing this much for steak it should be cooked correctly. Last time I sent my “medium rare” dry aged NY strip back and it was “well done” when it returned. This time the filet mignon came out “raw/rare” being a 6oz steak i knew sending it back would be a greater mistake. Sides, Dessert, and drinks have always been fantastic

    We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Our server was attentive and we had excellent service. The atmosphere was energetic as we had a large table of people beside us celebrating their 2024 business goals; they were loud. Overall, food was absolutely delicious and service was top notch.
