Set in a historic 19th-century Victorian, once-turned-local hospital. Now a vibrantly restored dining atmosphere, a wonderfully appointed Bed and Breakfast.

The Kirby Hotel & J. Paul's Dining Room features a fresh, bright menu with something for everyone's taste and price point. Carefully crafted cocktails, an array of award-winning wines, and a culinarily modern, yet classical take on food await your evening. Given multiple awards for its outstanding dining and service.

The staff and Chef LaBelle give a friendly and personable approach to your dining experience. Fresh Locally sourced products are used at their prime. The Prime-aged Prime Rib and Duck dishes are signatures, there are always fresh fish and seafood options as well as vegan and vegetarian options. We cater to all dietary needs.

In the summertime, we offer outdoor seating on our wrap-around porch or our beautifully landscaped back deck overlooking a large pond with a fountain with often-seen wildlife

Every aspect of our visit was a joy! Beautiful historic setting, friendly and knowledgeable staff,and the food! Chef LaBelle brought us our Oysters Rockefeller appetizer himself, we had nice interactions with each member of the front of the house staff, Melany is charming and funny, Courtney is sweet, endearing, and adorably unique, and Jeffrey is friendly and professional. Great combination of personalities! The Empanadas, which was the dinner special were phenomenal, and you can never go wrong with the Seared Sea Scallops for an entree! Definitely get the oysters!!!

our server Jeffery was outstanding and attentive. Gave us wonderful service. Food was wonderful! Place is beautiful! It is a must see in Saugatuck. Recommended by a local. Will not disappoint!

Another fantastic meal - it’s always consistently great! Oysters Rockefeller, prime rib and scallops are so delicious. Our friend had the lamb and lived it. Mel and Courtney do a great job making you feel welcome and serve yummy libations. Thanks Chris and team!

As always, my friends and I have enjoyed gathering to have a wonderful meal, lovely conversation and most of all be welcomed back to this charming establishment ! A must every time we are in the area, not to be missed !

The food is consistently good at The Kirby. The wine list could be upgraded but what is there is well priced.

Everything was lovely, the food, the service and the setting. My only complaint is about a couple who were seated just as our entree was served. The women had a very strong, obnoxious perfume , even though they were seated in a different room, the odor permeated everywhere, other people also commented on the odor. We would have left if she had been seated before us. We ate our meal faster than we would have liked so we could get away from the snell. I felt sorry for the waitress, who didn’t have that option!

J. Pauls is one of our favorite places. The chef is excellent so the food is always delicious and the service matches. Mel behind the bar and Courtney table side is always a fun experience. They are awesome!

Lovely historic setting. Can be very loud inside if other patrons are noisy. Outside is great in nice weather. One of few spots to get good prime rib in 3 sizes.
