Chef/restaurateur John Howie's definitive NW steak house, serving custom-aged USDA Prime steaks, American Wagyu Beef, Australian Waygu beef, Japanese "A5" 100% Wagyu beef, fresh seasonal Pacific fish and seafoods, wild foraged mushrooms, and locally sourced fruits and vegetables. John Howie Steak features two wood fired grills, mesquite charcoal and applewood that add subtle flavors to the foods. The wine list features a "Best of Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator. Enjoy classic and seasonal specialty cocktails, or the world’s finest single-malt scotch, bourbons and fine cognacs in the lounge. Two beautifully appointed private dining rooms are available for meetings or special occasions. A 20% service charge is included on each check. John Howie Steak retains 100% of the service charge. Our professional service team receives industry leading compensation.

    It’s an overpriced upscale restaurant, but the service was excellent and the food was very good. We ordered steak cooked medium, and it was a little more rare than we cared for, but it did taste good. We would eat there again.

    Scott and Oscar made the trip an evening to remember. They made the little things special and composed the service like a symphony of flavors. Two gentlemen creating lifetime customers; looking forward to our next visit!

    Excellent food, great service. Both the starter items and the main course ( Filet) was perfectly prepared and seasoned.

    My wife and I celebrate our birthdays here every year and they never disappoint. Pricey for sure, but well worth it for a special occasion. Great service, amazing steaks and recommend the tableside Caeser salad.

    John Howie Steak is really THE BEST!! I've been there many many times and everything on the menu is prepared perfectly. They offer a wide range of options including seafood and equally delicious vegetarian options. The service is in my opinion the best of any restaurant in the Seattle area (and a step above Seastar which is also excellent and of the same ownership). Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Many have been working there for years. I don't think I've ever had poor service but a special shout out to Mario who takes great care of you and Rodrigo who is either a manager or captain. There are too many menu highlights to mention but some of our favorites include their French onion soup (all of their soups actually) , tableside Caesar salad and the American Wagyu steaks. It is not an inexpensive meal but it is a good value and you definitely get your money's worth. Another good option is to go to the bar where they have some less expensive options while you also have access to the full menu.

    The restaurant has brought back excellent service and quality food to Washington. Service and quality are not a priority anywhere but John Howe.

    Terrible service. Steak was undercooked (ordered as medium and came as rare) and COLD. They forgot about our food so we had to wait over 45 mins after appetizers were cleared for the mains to come out. They ended up comping our entire bill.
