From the classic Italian music to the candlelit tables, the nostalgic atmosphere at Johnny Costa’s Ristorante feels like traveling back to midcentury times. It’s no wonder Frank Sinatra was once a regular at this fine Italian restaurant, which has been honored by Palm Springs Life as best Italian restaurant for 10 consecutive years. The Costa family continues the legacy of late chef-owner Johnny Costa, who was pals with Sinatra when he moved to Hollywood from New York in the 1960s, and a decade later served as the singer’s personal chef at his desert home. Costa’s pedigree lives on in his legendary recipes, including his classic cioppino. Open for dinner at 5 p.m. Closed Sunday & Monday

                                                                                      OK…First, we are definitely going back to Costa’s! Secondly, here’s why: The eggplant parmigiana, the special halibut dish, the spaghetti and meatballs and the lasagna were absolutely incredible! All of us ranted and raved throughout the meal! The Caesar salad is very refreshing and the house made dressing should be bottled and sold for its unique flavor! Our server was very attentive and friendly! If you want authentic Italian without flaw, make your reservations at Johnny Costa’s!!!

                                                                                      Very nice Traditional Italian Restaurant. Our server Jacob was very pleasant and provided excellent service. We enjoyed it so much we went there twice during our one week stay.

                                                                                      Was recommended by friends that live in Vegas so I cancelled my other plans to dine here. Service started out slow as I don’t think they realized I was seated outdoors. Place was quiet 🦗 Assuming by now all the snowbirds went back north. Enjoyed a nice martini was a chipped glass to begin. Caesar salad was not very dressed/creamy. I asked for some anchovies and appreciate the amount given by the server. Thank you. Bolognese was flavorful and amount of pasta was abundant. Ratio of sauce/pasta a bit off. I skipped dessert but saw some go by and they looked tasty.

We have been to Johnny Costas 4 times in 2 years when we visit Palm Springs- the food, service (Jacob) and ambience are consistent. Food is exceptional and always provides the same level foodie experience- thank you to the entire team!
