   For several years we have enjoyed Jovanina's by ourselves. Last night we invited family to join us and Jovanina's now has another couple who will be back. I rarely order pizza bit that was my mistake, the Mushroom pizza is amazing. A great blend of flavors. The other couple ordered the sausage pizza and not even a small scrap was left. Before the pizzas we shared the foccacia bread, always superb. And enjoyed the tri-color roasted carrots appetizer, also wonderful. Thank you Charlie.

   This place is wonderful. Smallish, making it cozy and warm. Rustic chic, making you feel at home. Family owned, making it a gem in a world of chain restaurants. Quality focused - so that what is on the menu is well prepared to its fullest extent possible. Our party of 6 became a party of 10 in one day, and the host was super accommodating. We arrived to see a beautiful suspended table with a large three candle candelabra in the center of the table. We quickly reviewed the wine list with Troy and he made excellent recommendations (specifically this Sardinian red that had the taste of Chianti but smooth and no bite, even at 14.5%). The Fennel sausage pizzas, ahi crudo, burrata (ah, the burrata), the salads, the pastas, and the green apple sorbet (with arancella on the side) - all were prepped and served with grace. Allison and Troy took excellent care of us. Go for something uniquely Denver and uniquely special - there is nothing "broken" about Jovanina's Italian Restaurant. Capisce?

   Food & ambience was great, the waiter on the other hand was very rude. When I asked him for suggestions, he told me to “order my own food.” Not once during our stay did he ask how our meal was or even offer a refill on our drinks.

    Once again Jovanina’s hit it out of the park!!! We tried things we loved ( the old fashion and Elk Bolognese) and a few things new. The Focaccia bread and rainbows carrots as starters are a must!! Both so good for such different reasons. The bread is such a perfect starter, you can taste how homemade it is and the carrots are an explosion of so many different flavors. We got the Elk and the short rip as our entrees, and if you have not tried the Elk Bolognese, you have not lived!! It’s just so perfect each and every time you will not be disappointed. We tried the short rib and also, AMAZING! They give you a steak knife and I am not sure why, it just falls off the bone at the slightest touch, and the balsamic that it sits upon is beautifully aged. We tried the Gelato and Sorbetti for desert, the flavors of both were fantastic, one was a raspberry lemonade and not sure the other, on their Owen they were great, we just were not sure why they were paired together so trying to enjoy both was interesting, but alas, both good, Our server was… fine, friendly and pleasant, but not very attentive. Drinks took awhile and we wanted to know what the desert was, but by the time they came around, we were done and didn’t care. Overall, we cannot recommend this place enough! You can’t go wrong with anything here! It’s a MUST when your downtown.
