J’s SteakFrites is a tribute to the tradition of Parisian Entrecôte steakhouses. Located in the heart of West Queen West neighborhood, one of the best Toronto downtown areas, the vibrant bistro brings steak frites menu to a new level : house made bread with butter, a fresh green salad and the perfectly marbled AAA Canadian Beef NY Striploin with crispy frites, and J’s secret sauce. All for $60 per person. Top quality ingredients, cheery music and great friendly service is our recipe of success.

Unlimited French fries was the good option. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Also, they offered lucky draw to make a night special. Defiantly, try it.

J’s Steakhouse exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was beautiful, as you can see from the photos. The meal started with a fresh, vibrant salad that was perfectly balanced with crunchy walnuts and fresh greens. For the main course, the steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The fries were crispy and complemented the meal wonderfully. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience—modern yet cozy, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Whether you’re a steak lover or just looking for a great dining experience, J’s Steakhouse is definitely a spot I would highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back!

Honestly a hidden gem, the food is incredible, the steak is cook at its point. The service is excellent, we celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and they made us feel special even tho, we arrived late to our reservation ( sorry ) overall, AMAZING. We will be back.

A bit expensive for what you get for fixed price. If they offered a bit more bread and dessert was included, I’d probably go back. Service and atmosphere was nice.

Overall, the steak is delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Fries were made and seasoned only when you wanted them. The staff were attentive; only five tables were reserved for the early seating. However, a 10oz steak doesn't seem to be enough. Perhaps it's just me since the next table took home leftovers.

It was our first time at J’s SteakFrites on College and it did not disappoint! We came for my aunt’s birthday. The food was delicious, I really loved the butter garlic house sauce for that night and the steak was cooked exactly how we like it. I had the purple moon and my aunt had the left bank martini which we both enjoyed! I think we had a pistachio sponge cake and that was really good. Honestly, I had a fabulous time here and I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you for having us J’s SteakFrites!

Our waitress was lovely and very sweet and attentive. No issues there. The drinks we ordered were okay, but not necessarily exceptional or unique. We got the Left Bank martini and the Purple Moon. The flavor of the martini was light and pleasant, the purple moon was okay. Both cocktails had bits of ice in them, totally unacceptable for a martini, meaning the bartender didn’t take the time to double strain it. The steaks were fine but weren’t cooked as requested. I asked for medium rare and my partner asked for rare. They were both rare, and we just let it go. However, strangely enough the table next to us asked for medium rare and medium well and they complained that the medium well steak was quite undercooked. This leads me to believe they just kinda cook them all the same way which is crazy cause there were 3 tables total the entire time we were there. I will say that the salads were delicious and the fries were tasty. However the entire experience after tip was more than $200 for the two of us and I just don’t know that it was worth that price point.

Steaks were perfect. Cocktails were lovely. Service was friendly. Corkage is $60 so if you’re bringing your own wine - make sure it’s worth it!
