Contemporary Indian restaurant by Michelin Star Chef Peter Joseph, located opposite the iconic Cadogan Hall in Chelsea.The 90-cover restaurant is inspired by Peter’s upbringing in Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India. Kahani, which translates to ‘story’ in Hindi, will be centred around Peter’s philosophy of community eating to celebrate, bring people together, break boundaries and share tales.This contemporary approach to Indian cooking will showcase seasonal and sustainable British ingredients, focusing on grilled meats, fish and vegetables from the robata grill - a core dining philosophy of the restaurant.

Drinks and some starters were great but overall the food was average, service slow and the restaurant was very hot!

The food was delicious especially the scallops and the lamb chops - we ordered a variety of dishes and shared and the amounts were perfect. Will definitely return for the set meal- we had a concert so were time limited but the food we ordered was super speedy and we got to watch it being made in the kitchen. Special mention for the jazz band - wow we almost wished we had stayed later they were excellent.

super great and attentive service with knowledgable staff. offered to take our photods, cleaned table between dishes, filled water, quickly cleared plates, etc. food was terrific esp the scallop app, the lamb kebabs and biryani (better than in india) in a great ambience.

The food was excellent. We were offered a very nice table close to the fire work. Service was very nice. Wines are a bit expensive.

Kahani offers an adequate dining experience, but it falls short of being memorable. We opted for the Dawat tasting menu, which, while not unpleasant, was underwhelming in its execution. The dishes were straightforward and felt like they lacked the creativity or refinement that sets exceptional restaurants apart. Can’t complain abaout the quantity of food as that was a lot. But In a city like London, where culinary innovation and value abound, Kahani feels average for its price point and location. Service was good and can’t pin point at anything that was problematic but perhaps could be more polished with more storytelling about the Chef’s background and his vision. They were really sweet about changing the lamb options to fish/ chicken for my friend. For those seeking standout flavours or a truly impressive experience, there are undoubtedly better options to explore.
