Welcome to Kapa Hale!

Kapa Hale has a modern influence on Hawai'i Regional Cuisine. We promote local products and combine them with familiar ethnic influences that showcase a cuisine that can only be found in today's Hawai'i.

We can help to celebrate life's special events -- whether it's a large party or an intimate prix-fixe menu. We can accommodate different styles of events -- cocktail reception, sit-down family style menus, etc. Chef Keaka Lee was recently recognized as a James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef in the Northwest and Pacific. And finalist for the Vegetarian category for the local Hale 'Aina Awards by Honolulu Magazine.

We're located next to Olive Tree Cafe, outside of Kahala Mall. We have a small, private parking lot.

Kapa Hale is always a culinary joy. Food and presentation are spot on. Go early if you want a quieter space as it can get pretty loud. Highly recommended!

The brunch is always so good and creative. Loved the pumpkin bread to start. Really enjoyed the "green eggs & ham" afterwards. And since we were splitting it, I ordered extra scrambled eggs. Then we enjoyed the pancakes with haupia sauce & toasted coconut. All, very yummy & reasonably priced - thank you Chef Lee!

The happy hour menu offered a variety of tasty bites including the poke-doki, pippikaula and KFC (fried chicken). The Haku Lei Po’o provided a large salad shareable for the table. The I Love You Laksa Risotto was tasty. The house-made vanilla ice cream and Jaipur sorbet provided a delicious finale.

Mains we had were a bit salty(loco moco, garlic shrimp), but everything else was great! Cornbread, ginger chicken, fried chicken, avo toast, Guri Guri:) Drinks were great too!

The employees are extremely nice as well as the owner. The stacked card board boxes next to dining tables and storage boxes, and extra chairs on the way to the restroom takes away from the atmosphere, and the overall experience.

Love Kapa Hale! Chef is always trying new things and always provides a wide selection of specials. We had the fish dip (this night it was Marlin). I loved it while my husband (who doesn’t like fish) gave it mixed reviews. The Naan bread appetizer was innovative, unusual and tatsty. Plenty of burger dishes for four people to share with the addition of another order of naan bread as recommended by our server. Chef was flexible and allowed us to order the entree off the prix fixe Winter Special tasting menu. It’s great when I can make a satisfying meal off of the starters/appetizer/sides menu. I had the Tempura Eggplant and the special Brussels Sprouts with pickled cranberries for my entree. Two of us had the chicken - perfectly toasted, succulent pieces of chicken with special potatoes. Both of the orders were so generous that doggy bags were required. Desserts included a gingerbread crème brûlée with a tiny little gingerbread man and pickled cranberries as a garnish. My friend ordered the guru guru with ice cream. The flavor the night we were there was strawberry. This was a smaller serving than we expected. I had the Haupia sorbet that came generously covered with toasted coconut flakes. Wine bottle prices are reasonable. Wine but the glass pours are exactly the number of ounces you order. Cocktails are full of fun names. There were a variety of Old Fashioneds. The meal menus are quite different - brunch, happy hour and dinner/lunch. We’ll be back to try more things on the menu.
