In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

                                                                    Excellenet service, fair seafood, extremely noisy, cramped environmenet. I did not like the "Snapper wings". For these exhorbitant prices I expect excellent snapper filets, and a much nicer environment. No clear signs regarding where to park for the restaurant. Ended up paying $16 to park next door, with no parking validation offered. This is not the place for us.

                                                                    Food and the quality of the food was excellent! Our server was attentive and made great recommendations on dinner choices. Overall dining experience was great! Will definitely return!

                                                                    We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. It was busy, we had reservations, but opted to sit at the bar because during the wait for our table, the bartender did a great job with service and suggestion of an appetizer while we waited. We then decided to eat at the bar. The food was excellent!!! We had the Mexican shrimp cocktail that was delicious and fresh!!! Then we had a grilled seafood platter. It was delicious!! The chargrilled oysters were amazing and the fish was cooked perfectly. The shrimp on the skewer were flavored nice. We will definitely be back for the grilled oysters again!!!

                                                                    The food was incredible! The bbq smoked oysters were perfection. Never had snapper wings before,but may have to get them every time now, so good! One person in our party has an allergy & two managers came to talk with us an assured she would be well taken care of. Our waitress was made aware of our time crunch & keto things running smoothly. Overall another member was celebrating a birthday & was brought a special dessert, so yummy! It can get super crowded when cruise traffic is around, they do take reservations, so that’s helpful. Perfect lunch for our group of 7
