At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Excellent welcome and explanation of the menu and specials. We had almost everything on the market menu and particularly enjoyed the smoked trout, the chicken with black garlic, the celeriac, and the two favourite side dishes were the samphire and the cabbage. Of course the scallops were also fabulous! At first I thought the music was too loud but as the restaurant became busier the music was actually off before I realised it and the general noise was the buzz of people enjoying the food and atmosphere. A very successful night out!

Hadn’t been to Kelp in a while but will definitely be back soon. Great choice in the Market menu and everything cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The mussels were fantastic and the coley with morcilla ragu a real stand out. Great choice of wine and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the food.

Took my son as a treat and it didn’t disappoint, the food was next level. Such an innovative menu that was simple delicious. Lovely staff and a fabulous experience.

Excellent as ever. The magnificent smoked cod roe should be available to buy in tubs. The Market Menu is super value for 2 mains and a side. When the first dish of smoke trout dish arrives I’m sure that we’ll be picking another dish to fill us up. How wrong can I be as by the time we’ve finished our food, there’s barely room for coffee! Some day I’ll find room to have a dessert 😊

This was the most amazing place for a special meal. We shared every small dish, a total feast, gorgeous tasting and looking food. We will definitely be back

This was a true seafood experience. Excellent choice of seafood and alternatives. Great service, friendly staff and great choice of wine. A must for every Glasgow visit.

Fantastic quality and reasonable prices. Venison was amazing, so was the coley. And the cheesecake. And the chat to the chef when we left.

Lunch Menu was great with really interesting and delicious dishes. Couldn’t fault the food or excellent service. Not normally a cheesecake fan but persuaded by the PX sauce accompanying it. Absolutely stunning and the cheesecake itself light as a feather. A truly memorable dish My first visit but will definitely return.
