At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

We’ve eaten in a good number of Michelin restaurants, and Kelp deserves at least one star. Kelp has fantastic food, we love fish and to have such variety and depth of flavours was fantastic. We shared small plates, and loved every one of them. It is not inexpensive however the value of there. Service was attentive without being stuff or intrusive. Would go back again happily.

All in all it was enjoyable, though I felt the food was carried by the clam and the sauce they come with (dipped everything in that, in the end). Standalone, the food was alright. Service was good (less is more in my eyes), all staff were friendly and prompt. Seating was perhaps a bit tight but I guess we could call it cosy. Overall a nice place to go for a special occasion or similar.

If your looking for a warm invitingly happy place to eat with high quality sauces to accompany your supper fresh fish Kelp needs to be your go to joint! The service is knowledgeable and attentive with out being overbearing. The food is a fireworks display for you taste buds much over used word but umami bursts of each different plate but each with its own unique flavour profile. Stand out for my the rhubarb and ginger on the oysters, the mussels in a broth to die for and the capper onion sauce on the market fish!!!

Excellent food and service in a nice bright environment. Food was first class, scallops dish was perfectly done, chicken small plate was amazing and shared full lobster was a good size, taste and texture was fantastic. Definitely going to return

Langoustine, clams, scallop and trout small plates, with seaweed roast potatoes and samphire slaw sides. Really excellent meal. All so fresh and excellent value. Lovely ambience in restaurant also. Welcome and attention from waiter and waitress really excellent.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible seafood restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the tone for what was to come. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the oysters—each one was impeccably fresh, brimming with that pure oceanic flavor that is the true mark of quality. The langoustine was perfectly cooked, tender and savoury and the clams were delicate, opening up to reveal their natural brininess that balanced the dish beautifully. The scallops were cooked to perfection, with a lovely sear on the outside while maintaining a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture inside. What truly stood out was the finesse of the sauces that accompanied each dish. They were thoughtfully crafted, complementing the natural flavors of the seafood without overpowering them. It’s clear that the chefs had an exceptional understanding of both flavor and technique. If you’re a seafood lover, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The quality of the seafood, combined with the refined approach to preparation and presentation, creates an extraordinary dining experience. I can’t wait to return and indulge in more of these exquisite dishes.

High quality food , well presented and lovely helpful staff. We really enjoyed the meal having 4 dishes between us. We had the Halibut,Coley, Langoustines and Trout with a side of fries . The quality of the fish was first class ,good size portions and lovely fries . We finished by sharing the cheeseboard . The cheeses were all Scottish with both goat and cow cheese. We had a bottle of the Primitivo,which while an unusual choice for fish went very well. Overall an excellent meal.

An excellent fish restaurant with great value lunch menu. The whipped smoked scallop roe is to die for!
