At Kindling we believe that great steak should be for everyone. Located in the heart of Brighton, our restaurant offers a laid-back dining experience with great value, quality beef cooked over charcoal and live fire.
Our open kitchen lets you see all the action up close. Witness the skill and passion of our team as they cook your steak to perfection.

We focus on quality and value, creating a casual environment that makes everyone feel at home. Kindling is perfect for casual business lunches, family get-togethers and catch-ups with friends.

Our menu is simple but spot-on. It features grass-fed British beef and delicious cocktails, wines, and beers that perfectly complement your meal. On Sundays and Mondays, we serve our Sharing Roast for two alongside our regular menu.

The kindling is nice tucked away restaurant, nice ambience and setting. Service was good as well as the options of drink. We had ordered the Camembert on the seasons special to start, was not satisfied with the taste and amount given. We had the T-Bone sharing platter with a side of chips and peppercorn sauce. The steak itself looked lovely and was served in good time. It was cooked great (medium rare) but would have liked it slightly warmer. There wasn’t much taste to the meat, and was less meat on the bone than expected. The chips and peppercorn sauce were lovely, as well as the sticky toffee pudding and molten chocolate pudding. Overall if you wanted a restaurant with a nice steak I wouldn’t recommend here, but the setting of the restaurant is nice as well as the dessert.

Amazing! The best food I have ever eaten. The T-bone steak is to die for!! Starters and sides were delicious as well. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the service was spot on. Amazing value for money. Overall 1000000/10. Only minor negative was there was a slight draft every time the door opened - but that can’t be helped.

Best steak I've ever had. The sauces and the sides were also delicious. Highly recommend sharing the T-bone steak with your partner or a friend. Absolutely phenomenal flavour and cooked to perfection.

We had the most amazing meal, could not fault anything at all. The food was outstanding will definatley be back the next time we're in Brighton

We had a fantastic meal. The only things I would have liked was for the waiter to explain the food when it arrived on the meat platter and To offer us a tap water to our table. Decor and ambience were fab and food was amazing. Toilets very clean and the music was relaxing. We will be back.

Having been here 8/9 times now, it quickly became my favourite place in Brighton for food! However today wasn’t great which I’m sad to say! The steak came out incorrect which mean this was being Re-done. I had the croquettes & Mac & Cheese to come out with the main, these were both more towards cold than even warm, also due to the steak being Re-done It meant I had to eat the snacks quick other wise they would of been really cold by the time I got my steak. Other than that the Sauce was great and the steak tasted fantastic, was extremely fatty but this can’t be helped sometimes! See you soon!

The food itself was lovely however unfortunately some bits had been forgotten, we had finished the meal before the side arrived at the table. Almost charged for the table next to us as there was some kind of confusion. Overall a lovely restaurant but they do have hiccups.
