Kinme Sushi has been serving high-quality, fresh sushi in the heart of Philadelphia since 2018. Founded by husband-and-wife team Junxin and Nancy Huang, the restaurant is built on a foundation of passion, precision, and dedication to excellence. Junxin takes a hands-on approach, personally selecting the freshest fish to ensure that every dish meets the highest standards. Everyone at the restaurant was gracious and eager to help, and even made sure to advise us to look around as we were getting ready to leave. They knew we had to depart in time to catch a show, and diners had been known to leave cell phones, credit cards, etc., behind, since the lighting is muted. With the warning, we left in tact. The menu was diverse and very creative. Everything we tried was excellent all the way up to “Must order pr this again!” Fresh ingredients, creative presentations (try the Mary Poppins roll}, tasty fish, and a surprising range of textures—I’d go back in a minute, and if I lived in the city I’d be booking a reservation frequently. I recommend it to anyone who loves sushi, but do try other items on the menu as well!

The food really wasn’t that great. I was so surprised because the reviews were amazing. The staff was fabulous though. Just wish the food matched their greatness.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Kinme. They had a wide and creative variety of sushi and rolls. Each one that we had was better than the rest. The fish was very good quality and fresh. I look forward to visiting again and trying other varieties of sushi.

We had a reservation for another sushi byob but they were very busy and the place was loud. So we quickly decided to go to Kinme instead. Glad we did. The place was almost full, but the noise level was more bearable. Food was great. Good white miso soup. Sushi were good. Mochis were delicious. One of our servers, Brian, was hilarious. He was making so many tables laugh with his jokes. Overall, good time there.

The quality of the food and service was outstanding. Although the start was a bit slow with meeting our waiter and finally taking our order (~15 min from seating), they were attentive and responsive. We let them know we had to leave by a certain time and they communicated with and reassured us throughout. Only complaint was that the restaurant was sooo cold, I had to wear my winter coat inside. It's also BYOB, which is a plus!
