Komaaj is a Northern Iranian cuisine brand focusing on the flavors and aromas of the Northern region of Iran. Komaaj was born with the mission to create a platform for making a cultural bridge by serving, well-crafted and unique Northern Iranian cuisine with an emphasis on regional flavors, and their culinary traditions. Today, Komaaj food and its products are prepared and presented in a manner that honors Northern Iran culinary traditions by sourcing seasonal fresh produce, herbs, spices, and products available in the Bay Area.

Our latest project, KOMAAJ MAZZE WINE BAR, brings the tastes, smells, and traditions of the region we call home to the table at our newly opened location in the Mission neighborhood of San Francisco.

At KOMAAJ MAZZE WINE BAR we offer a culinary experience of platter style dishes for you to share while sipping on our special collection of the Caucasus regional wines and house made non-alcoholic Sharbats that are unique in taste and memorable to experience.

Place oriented to wine and mezze dishes more than place for dining. Only three entrees available. Multiple mezze dishes, mostly cold items. Seems slightly over-priced for SF.

Komaaj is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a very long time. From the service to the food and ambience, everything was amazing! Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and ingredients as well as giving us great wine pairing recommendations for our meal. The food is just incredible with so much flavor and uniqueness. Every single bite we took was a fantastic experience and we cannot wait to go back! I have heard the weekend brunch is a MUST try so I can’t wait to go back soon!!!! 5 stars for food and customer service all the way!

Mouth watering dishes and a beautiful atmosphere. They serve the most unique persian cuisine that you probably won’t be able to find anywhere in the world!! I absolutely love every single dish. Tried the lamp and the chicken wings this time also and they were soooo freaking good!! The staff is also friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go back again 😋❤️😘👌🏼💋✨

Incredible food and service - the staff were knowledgeable about the great wine selection as well as offering tips on what to order/ how much. We tried the larger mazze plate and were given a superb run down on everything and how to pair each piece. Can't wait to go back and try more!

The selection of wines is impressive, with carefully curated options that pair beautifully with their unique and flavorful small plates. Every dish was an explosion of fresh, bold, and authentic flavors that showcase the best of Persian-inspired cuisine. What really stands out is the attention to detail — from the presentation of the food to the knowledgeable recommendations from the staff. If you’re looking for a place that offers something different and memorable, Komaaj Mazza is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

As always everything about this Place is amazing & beautiful! I have enjoyed the meal with my family visiting from Southern California and the experience was so new to them although they are going to Persian Restaurant in LA regularly. This is what makes Komaaj a special restaurant; The food tastes like Home! The service is Warm and Welcoming! The Wine selection is Unique!
