Kumiko is a Japanese Dining Bar (ダイニングバー)* where food and drink are treated with equal reverence. Located in Chicago’s West Loop, Kumiko boasts incredible cocktails and spirits with exquisite food to pair.

Owner and bartender Julia Momosé blends Japanese ingredients and techniques to create an elevated menu of beverages and bites.

Whether you come to savor some of Japan’s finest saké or walk in for a lovely dinner with friends, Kumiko welcomes you with warmth and gratitude.

                                Service was amazing. Hibiscus matcha latte was one of the best I've ever had. My friend liked her cocktail as well. Food was ok - potato salad is truly the best I've ever had, katsukare was not good (katsu did not have much texture and was mushy, which I was not a fan of, the curry didn't taste authentic), and karage was good but nothing special in my opinion. Ambiance was amazing; I loved the interior design. I appreciated that there were so many menu categories to choose from (dining, snacks, cafe, cocktails, spiritfrees). Overall a good experience, considering going back just for hibiscus matcha latte and potato salad!!!

                                We had an absolutely incredible experience at Kumiko. The staff were very friendly and the cocktails/bites were delicious. Thank you to the Kumiko team for the wonderful time!

                                Some of the best cocktails I've ever had, period. We sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. Food was delicious and complimented the evening, but the cocktails really are the star of the show here. The setting is quite romantic, dimly lit and quiet, incense, ambient music, friendly, refined. It's pricey for drinks, for sure, but you feel like you're getting something of the highest quality and you're the only one drinking quite so well. For a special occasion, it's hard to beat Kumiko.
