This charming and intimate restaurant serves a generous and creative fresh market cuisine, cheerfully prepared by chef-owners Marc De Canck and Olivier de Montigny. At La Chronique, the pleasures of the table are always front and centre. But in addition to the delights it serves up, the restaurant is also known for its extensive wine list awarded ''Best Award of Excellence'' by Wine Spectator in 2024, welcoming décor and impeccable service. Little wonder it's been considered "essential eating" in Montreal since 1995.

    Excellent restaurant, repas de très haute qualité. Je reprocherais uniquement le bruit de la porte coulissante de la cuisine qui était assez pénible au bot de 2h de repas. Le choix du vin sur la viande rouge n'était pas le meilleur selon moi, mais le serveur nous a fait gouter autre chose pour compenser, ce fut très apprécié.

    Un seul client à parler pour tout le resto comme s’il était dans son salon. Soirée désagréable Service long malgré qu’il n’y ait que 3 tables dans le restaurant… Nourriture bonne mais très riche.

    My second visit in 2 months. Another solid experience. We took the 7 course menu both times. Menu slightly different than first visit last November. I preferred the last menu, my companion preferred this one. Highly recommend. Michelin restaurant vibe and presentation.

    Weihnachtsmenue. Lecker. Manchmal ein bisschen zu gewollt und nicht gekonnt. Guter Service. Gesessen haben wir auf einer Zwischenebene, das war nicht wirklich nett.

    Very limited menu, the cheese plate had 2 cheeses, the bread wasn’t good and the fish was terrible. We didn’t enjoy anything here unfortunately.

    Nous étions allés à la Chronique il y a assez longtemps lorsque le restaurant était situé de l'autre côté de la rue, et nous avions gardé un souvenir excellent de notre repas. Cette fois ci il y a eu plusieurs fausses notes qui ont terni l'expérience. - Temps d'attente beaucoup trop long entre les plats (2 plats et un dessert pour un total de 2h30... - Afin de s'excuser pour les délais le serveur a offert à mon conjoint un verre de vin mais ne m'a pas demandé si je désirais quelque chose, ne buvant pas de vin je suppose, alors que l'attente me touchait aussi. - Le foie gras était très bon mais la morue un peu trop cuite, quoi que savoureuse ce qui était dommage, et l'accompagnement de la morue très moyen :une crevette posée sur une tranche de tomate (en novembre ?) peu gouteuse avec une petite verdure et une sauce ok, mais moyenne. Le dessert, juste 2 choix possibles, était dans ce cas un gâteau aux trois chocolat pas très originale, un peu trop sucré et avec le chocolat blanc ou ce qui semblait être du chocolat blanc très présent. La présentation de l'ensemble assez convenue. C'est triste car notre première expérience avait été une réussite.
