Welcome to La Follia Caffè, our small slice of Italy. Beautiful, seasonal ingredients and the best coffee - nestled at the foot of the rolling South Downs, amongst the mix-century world of antique and vintage shop, Lamb & Newt.
Our Cicchetti (small plates) are as big in flavour as they are small. Our hand made focaccia is sublime and the base for all our Sarnis and Toasties. If you come in time for breakfast the La Follia Brillante Breakfast Roll and freshly baked Cornetti will win your hearts.
All our food is made by us, with all the love you'd expect. Literally every piece in the cafe has had a previous life and if it's not tethered or human, is for sale. A take away might be a little more than you expected.

Welcome to our Cena Italiana - a bookable, traditional Italian 4 course set menu supper. An evening of pure indulgence and after dark Italian hospitality. After Dark everything sparkles… tables draped in pristine linen come to life with dancing candlelight and polished silver - Ray Gelato croons from the wings. It’s our favourite moment of the month. Aperitivo at 7pm. Gondolas until 11pm. £75 Every Cena Italiana has its own unique, carefully created menu. A delicate Antipasti followed by silky risotto, indulgent arancini or comforting pasta Primo, a stand out Secondo of our finest local meat or deliziosa vegetariano, fished with a sumptuous Dolce. Please see an example menu below. Your final menu will be sent closer to the date so you can chose the vegetarian options if desired. Grazie mille, La Follia x SUPPER MENU An antipasti of the first of the season, local asparagus with tangy taleggio fonduta Primo of pea risotto with verdant wild garlic & luxurious Prosecco Secondo of succulent rump of local lamb with warm anchovy and black olive salsa & slow roasted tomatoes OR Vegetariano of baked ricotta sformato with olives and slow roasted marinda tomatoes, drizzled with basil oil (V) Dolce of soft pistachio meringue, blood oranges & rhubarb with silky mascarpone cream If you are coeliac or have a nut allergy or need a gluten or dairy free option, please contact us prior to the event. Welcome to our laid back pop-up Trattoria La Follia. A wonderfully relaxed 2 course simple supper of Pasta & Pudding with some small but delicious Salads, Nibbles and Anna's Focaccia of course. It will be 'alla carta' restaurant style, with bookings at 6.30, 6.45, 7.00, 7.15 and 7.30. Checked table cloths, candlelight and the warmest Italian hospitality. Had an excellent lunch here with friends yesterday, we shared some nibbles, followed by delicious toasted sandwiches and an excellent white wine and their perfect coffee best in our area Unfortunately for them and us lots of roads closed in the area but worth the diversions to get there

The BEST cafe that I have been to in a long time, food was just outstanding, it’s 10/10 for the flavours, presentation. The staff helpful and have a lovely interaction with their customers. Lots of beautiful unique items for sale too, I had a lunch to remember, came away with a gorgeous plate which I purchased and also booked a table for the upcoming Pasta and Pudding evening. Thank you !!

really enjoyed Goats cheese crostini & salad. Tea was a little generous for 1 tea bag so requested another. we ate late (2pm) so quiet.

Just perfect in every way… Seriously delicious food & coffee, it is like walking into the cafe/kerbside restaurant that you dream of finding in Italy…but it’s here! On my doorstep in a pretty little village in Sussex. Such a wonderful atmosphere, Mariana’s flare and style are faultless. This really is la Dolce Vita.

Fabulous restaurant - although we live only 10 miles away had no idea of its existence until we read the review by Tom Parker-Bowles. Understand totally why he lists La Follia in his Top Ten. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Once you’ve tried this beautiful, welcoming and relaxing little restaurant, you’ll want to return regularly. The food is divine - moreish and filling at the same time - recommend the homemade soup/stew. Staff and owner are always genuinely pleased to see you and will go out of their way to accommodate you.

Pasta and pud night was lovely. Choice of pastas with a few sides to add if required. We loved the simple but ample menu and the quality of food was fab. Great ambiance with friendly and efficient staff. Thank you for a great Friday night and super way to start the weekend. Looking forward to returning.
