La Foret offers fine French dining in an old country setting. We are proudly now offering outdoor dining!!!The historically significant building rests next to a quietly meandering stream in the verdant foothills of New Almaden. Picture windows surrounding the entire dining area allow you to fully enjoy the quietly beautiful surroundings during your meal. Specializing in fine French cuisine, La Foret has earned its place among the area's finest restaurants and in fact has been listed among the 50 best French restaurants in the United States.

La Foret ha an extensive wine list, which includes French and Napa Valley selections. It offers a tasting menu and brunch on Sundays.

This restaurant has private rooms for catering banquet-style private events. It also hosts weddings with capacity for up to 130 guests.

                                                                            The food is always fantastic and consistent. The restaurant always has a casual elegance. The staff in general are amazing. This time however our server was obviously late for his shift as he had several tables wanting. And he was a mediocre server at best. The restaurant remains one of our favorites. Some of their servers could do with some coaching. Being a captain in a high level restaurant is not easy.

                                                                            Went with my girlfriend for our anniversary. We ordered steak tartare and quail for appetizers, and the venison, and lamb for main entree. All were amazingly delicious and the staff were great as well.

Amazing knowledge went there for my 10 year anniversary and I would just go back just to have dinner. This place is amazing. Food is out of this world. if this place doesn’t have a Michelin star it should have one or two or three

                                                                            The service was great and attentive but the food was not as tasty as expected. Our group of 6 have ordered a variety of food such as the bison the filet mignon the pasta fruit de mer, prawn and escargot. The pasta was too salty and the flavor was just not there. It was quite disappointing.
