   We didn't know what to expect, but found authentic South American food, delicious Pisco Sours and a relaxed and tranquil setting at a reasonable price.

   Restaurant was closed upon my arrival. I understand this is a family owned restaurant but they should not accept reservations if they are not going to be open. Fairly inconvenient and inconsiderate.

   Despite making advance reservation and arriving on time, we were turned away at the door, even though there were open tables. No accommodation or recognition that this was a Mother’s Day outing with kid in tow.

   Food was very good, staff very friendly, cocktails outstanding- reminded me of pleasant memories traveling in Peru - all this and live music, too!

   Great staff, relaxing and cuisine with wonderful flavor and presentation. An OAKLAND restaurant that has been here for years for a reason. It’s wonderful!

   We went on Sunday to celebrate my moms birthday. We didn’t know that they have life music on Sundays. We arrived at 2 and the singer started at 3 we enjoyed about 2 hours of nice soft and romantic Latin music. She had the best time ever! Anticuchos, ceviche, and seco de cordero among the best dishes. Wonderful music, wonderful food, wonderful service. I totally recommend it for birthday celebrations or any special occasion. I hope to come back soon.

   I made a reservation and when we arrived at 7pm to the front of the restaurant there was no staff waiting on tables nor a greeter at the entrance. We waited and about 5 min later someone came and took us to the back of the restaurant that was more of a bar with a raised stage area and tables, very dark with a band setting up. When the food came the food tasted ok. But, knowing Peruvian food and haven eaten at very good restaurants in the Bay Area, we were very disappointed. It was home cooked, large portions. When the music started, it was blaring and was very hard to have a conversation. The bar drinks weren't great either. We won't go back.

   I had a reservation for 7 and they didn't bother to prepare our table at all. They were rather surprised that we had a reservation. They tried to stick us in the loud club with music. It took them 45 mins to set us up. They did offer free dessert but only after I asked for them to comp something. I wouldn't go back.

    I have been here several times over the years. I liked the shrimp chowder a lot and also the jalea. Peruvian food is rising as a new cuisine. The menu here shows some Italian influence.
