Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Beautiful holiday ambiance, food and service was outstanding. Everything we ordered was great: escargot, foie gras, pear salad, wagyu carpaccio, rib eye, filet mignon, and whole branzino. Dessert we had the cheesecake, crème brûlée, and chocolate mousse. Special appreciation to the service from Our waiter, Amid, not sure of proper spelling. And there’s Valet!

The ambiance is great, music is a bit too loud combined with kids screaming next table …mussels were not fully cooked and a couple of them didn’t open at all, didn’t like the sauce either. My daughter enjoyed scallops but there were only 3 of them - just right fur 10-year old! My husband liked his lobster bisque but desert was a bit bland and chewy (too much caramel). The chocolate mousse that we tried last was much better choice!

Really great experience. The place was decorated in such a cute way. There was a huge and very real Christmas tree in the middle of the restaurant. Overall, the food and drinks were delicious and the service was great. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Great value for the price. I would definitely recommend and will come back for sure.

Extremely slow service. The food was mediocre. We had the steak frites, burger, and fettucini bolognese. I would skip this place.

Beautiful building, gorgeous holiday decor. Our table was a little tight and by the door, so drafty. But we were seated almost immediately and service was quick and pleasant. Would def recommend.

We had an amazing dining experience at Le Grand Boucherie. The wagyu carpaccio was a standout—perfectly tender and full of flavor, easily one of the best I’ve had. The steak frites were equally impressive, cooked to perfection and paired with crispy, golden fries. The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, and the service was attentive throughout the night. Highly recommend for a top-tier French dining experience!
