Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

                Gorgeous environment. Maitre’d did not greet & continued conversing with colleague as we waited to be checked in. Cool booth table in top level which was comfortable but the noise level made it challenging to have conversation . Great server who was really making an effort to take care of us but had too many tables to manage. Ordered 3 appetizers 2 of 3 were cold and subpar quality. Luckily the Drinks were tasty. Main dishes were overall just okay. Bland, tough & cold Beef bourguignon. Branzino fine but barely warm. Burger was the only remarkable entree. Fries cold. Brussels sprouts good. Gouda Macaroni blah & cold. Wine came 20minutes after Main course, wasn’t the bottle we ordered and was not what we were expecting and $20 more. Our family’s 3rd visit to this restaurant and love the decor but the food continues to disappoint. Server was nice and helpful but harried & scrambling.

                We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and my parents anniversary. The staff at La Grande Boucherie made it an extra special occasion with a champagne toast of the evening followed by excellent service throughout. The food was delicious, and the ambience was perfect. We will be back.

                After ordering our food and wine we were served our starter before the wine came. 30 minutes it took for the wine to arrive. The French onion soup was so bland and the onions were white. The service was painfully slow. The tables were so close together we felt extremely cramped. The wait staff having to squeeze past us to get to other tables. When we presented them with our OpenTable voucher they said it wouldn’t work and they could only take it for 80% of the value. My husband questioned them as he works for Mastercard. Magically it suddenly worked. Very disappointed.

                Wow! Absolutely gorgeous place The staff was pleasant and attentive as well, great service We took our family here for our Thanksgiving gathering and every dish was excellent

                Few places exceed expectations set for a newer restaurant but this was my experience on my first dinner at La Grande Boucherie. Filled to capacity for Thanksgiving, the service didn't suffer, the wine list well matched to the menu, and the food was perfectly prepared. The steak melts in your mouth, the French onion soup better than Paris, and oysters fresh, plump, and perfectly chilled. Outstanding. But nothing prepares you for the breathtaking ambiance! The sweeping staircase, magnificent Beaux Arts interior- you might think you're in Paris!

                Starters and most mains were very good. Shared sole was served to one person although ordered for two, as described in the menu, and very overpriced for the size / sharing dish- the instinct of the wait staff to serve for one was in line with the dish size, but not how the dish was advertised as a sharing portion for two or in line with the very high price. Deserts were extremely underwhelming and of an entirely different, much lower, quality than the mains and starters. The Thanksgiving pumpkin tatin was particularly bad but the others were also not very good. Service was very friendly and enthusiastic but very uneven in follow through, accuracy, and timeliness. The atmosphere is wonderful, a truly gorgeous space. Overall, it was my most underwhelming meal at the restaurant, which I hope can push up the quality and value of dishes across the board and even out the rough edges of the service.

                This restaurant is very beautiful, but that is the best thing about it. The food was OK for the price we paid, the server was very nice and friendly, but not super attentive, and we were brought the wrong meals. I would go back and try it again, maybw, but I'll sit at the bar next time.

                My family had the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at La Boucherie. Gorgeous Instagram restaurant but was over the top beautiful with holiday decorations. Half priced champagne, lucious onion soup, delicious filet mignon and ribeye steak, everyone dressed picture perfect. The service was wonderful. I have been to the NYC West Village restaurant and it was lovely too. Thank you La Boucherie for coming to DC!

                We were really disappointed with our experience. For a high end restaurant like this severs need to go above and beyond however we were constantly chasing down our sever instead of them checking on us. The steaks were greatly lacking salt and bland, the side veggies super oily and like warm. After 5 minutes of trying to call our sever who was around but would not make eye contact with us, we finally asked for salt and pepper, he acknowledged but never got back to us. We had to ask another sever. Overall the ambience was really good but the food subpar and service non existent. I would not recommend or go back.
