La Palombe is a new neighbourhood bistro from restaurateur James Chiavarini (also of Il Portico) & chef patron Jake Leach (previously head chef at the three Michelin starred The Ledbury).

A large wood burning grill takes center stage where the majority of the dishes are cooked over live embers. James & Jake work together every shift to serve dishes with a real sense of terroir and provenance, including our speciality of wild foods foraged ourselves. Expect wild noisette venison, Wiltshire truffles (thanks to our house truffle dog Alba!), rare woodland mushrooms, and much wonderful produce from our small organic farm in Kent.

The wine list is sourced entirely from independent producers, and regularly updated with a specialised focus on low intervention, natural and biodynamic wines.

We are across the road to the Design Museum & Holland Park, a 10 minute walk from Kensington Olympia and a short distance to the Royal Albert Hall.

                                          Lovely, relaxed, charming, neighbourhood joint! The venison main dish is exemplary with the venison cooked three ways. Just a few more options on the main menu would make things even more amazing

                                          Chill place and excellent food. It is a small restaurant and very busy, and the staffs are so friendly and welcoming. We ordered a bottle of burgundy red and the wine is reasonably priced too!

                                          Absolute class. Such a welcoming team from front of house and the chef. Beautifully prepared dishes with delicious jus. Own estate venison adds a special touch. But also delicately cooked duck and even hare. We’ll be back.

                                          Well worth visiting for original menu choices, well presented and coupled with excellent service. A great alternative to O Portico.

                                          We went for a valentines day meal and I am struggling to find any fault. The meal was outstanding; an excellent mushroom and wild garlic soup followed by Chicken ballontine. This was followed by the best creme brûlée I think I have ever had. Accompanied by a great wine choice, this represented great value for money in terms of quality. What makes the difference however is the level of service. Professional, polite, attentive but not intrusive. The owner also came around to make sure things were fine with his customers and it was very clear that he really cares for his customers, his staff and the dishes prepared. If this review isnt enough to convince you, just take a look at the other reviews and ratings - this place is a gem.

                                          The food was excellent - absolutely delicious. Service was great and the menu had a nice range of something-for-everyone. Can't wait to go back. And surprisingly inexpensive, considering London and everything else.
