We were in Puerto Rico for a week and we visited this restaurant twice and both times the service and the food was excellent. Just make sure you make reservations ahead of time and you will not regret it.

We booked for New Years Eve based on other reviews. The restaurant asked us to change the time since they were closing early - no problem. We had high hopes. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. We ordered drinks, which were delicious. The appetizers came out promptly and were delicious. That was the end of the positive experience. Everyone's entrees took over an hour to arrive AFTER the appetizers. We were pointedly ignored by everyone, including our waiter. There were no drink refills. There were no apologies. We watched tables that arrived after us get their food until we were literally the last people served in the restaurant, in spite of not being the last arrivals. When it arrived, it clearly was rushed. Steaks were completely unseasoned and one was cold to the touch. It was certainly not worth the cost in dollars or time.

Hosted 50th anniversary family event for my in-laws, 13 people - service was so poor it unfortunately ruined event. Overall server was not able to handle her assignment, but the restaurant overall was not able to help compensate support, lacked supervising management. We waited about 45 minutes for water, 2 hours for appetizers (that we ordered soon as we sat down to keep event moving), and several dishes never came (several misplaced orders). Food and ambience otherwise was otherwise good.

While most looking for a dinner spot stayed closer to the concentrated Condado hotel area, we walked a few blocks further and found LA Cantina Argentina. We checked Open Tablefor availability and found a few immediate reservations. The restaurant interior is a classic dark wood decor with beautiful glass chandeliers and soft lighting. In a busy Saturday evening, we waited only five minutes for the table. The hosts greeted us with a friendly appreciation for choosing their restaurant. The waited staff is also The wine list is extensive, with a large range of prices to accommodate every wish. The food choices also cover a wide range of tastes. We ordered two seafood fettuccine dishes with pink sauce, calamari, octopus and mussels that were fantastic! Ditto for the chicken breasts with a spinach in garlic cream sauce. An addition order of tomatoes and mozzarella with basil complete the entrees. A beautiful white wine, sweet pina colada and a pineapple juice were our drinks. Although there was plenty of the dinners left to bring home we topped off the meals with a delicious creme brulee. With a very generous tip the total cost was only $200.00, a very good value for the quality and quantity of the meals. Great ambiance, staff and menu make LA Cantina Argentina a wonderful location for dinner.

This has all the makings of a great bar/restaurant: upscale location, great decor and furniture, pleasant enough staff. The trouble is, everything looks to be good, but it misses on all marks after you settle in. We were a larger party (6) and didn’t expect to be served immediately - usually larger parties need extra time. Drink orders were taken immediately. But it took a while for us to get a food order in, and then a much longer time to get food. The portions are massive - first time I’ve seen portions that large outside of the states proper. No one in our party finished their food and all agreed that it looked better than it tasted. Service was stressed and after a while, the whole night just became long and mediocre.

We went there on a Saturday night. One of the best experiences I've had in Puerto Rico. The food and the servers were amazing. The coctails are out of this world.
