    Food was outstanding but the service was adequate at best and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation. I will not eat at this restaurant again.

    Everything we’ve tried on the menu is very good. The Bolognese, Papparadelle, Caesar salads all excellent. But the garlic bread is the absolute bomb. Old Fashion is expert level.

    It is always nice to see local restaurants doing well - watching it fill up with guests as the evening progressed. They have a good menu and for the first time we tried one of their pizzas - excellent! The Dirty Martini was quite dirty, they could scale back by half, but the beer selection was good. The shrimp appetizer was very good and paired with a salad, made for a perfect meal.

    Food and service was fabulous. The table where we were seated though was terrible; it was so small that every time our waiter brought food we had to move our drinks to make room (mind you there were only two of us). And the biggest disappointment is that my husband and I were celebrating his 70th birthday which was noted in the reservation and not once acknowledged. Very disappointing.

    Wait staff was lovely, food was great but I have 4 stars as it didn’t have any vegetables besides broccolini and not vegetarian friendly. Yes a couple of options but a vegetarian pizza with real veggies would have been welcome for the price!

    Beautiful restaurant with perfect ambiance for a nice quiet dinner out with friends. Location is nice, but parking can be a challenge at holidays, though valet nearby is an option besides all of the street parking around.

    Our first visit to La Riv was spectacular. Our waiter was Paul, and he’s pretty amazing. I wanted to try a cocktail, so specifically asked about those…I enjoyed my first gimlet! My experience is with wine, red specifically. So, I asked for Paul’s choice with that as well and it was fantastic. It was our anniversary, and this is the only ding I’ve got against this restaurant. For years we’ve been going to City Post for our anniversary, and it is prominently acknowledged by all there (always booked through OpenTable). It wasn’t acknowledged here at all. :( We enjoyed the hint of smoke of everything. Brocollini, fingerling potatoes, polenta (not smoky, but so good!!!) – first time I loved all the sides anywhere. Our steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. Paul went above and beyond by creating a special dessert for us (Affogato!)! I totally recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again this weekend because our daughter will be in town.

    This was a holiday dinner for my family. We attended to play afterwards a Christmas play. dinner was just OK little things in a restaurant of that level and the prices very high, didn’t reflect the overall experience. For instance, we ordered a Caesar salad our waiter never offered to bring cracked pepper our tiramisu was basically a crème brûlée in my main meal was pasta and braised beef. The braised beef was extremely fatty and the pasta portion skimpy , but the overall flavors and sauces were excellent perhaps next time things might be better. I will try them again.

    This was my second time eating here, and both times have been fantastic. The menu is small, but as far as I can tell, there are no bad choices on it! Service has been great each time

    Our server lady was excellent and very attentive and fun. The food was awesome and they were great at adjusting our reserved table to accommodate our 4 extra guests.
