   Private tasting in a wine cellar. Good selection of wines and the sommelier was very knowledgeable.

   Food is good but pricey for what you get. I wouldn’t have cared as much, but the restaurant pulls a fast one on gratuity. First, they include an automatic 20% tip (fine, this is Miami and every place does 18-20%); however, the next screen on the QR code-generated bill is a secondary gratuity prompt asking you to give an additional 3%, 5%, or 7%. The main issue with this: you can’t back out or negate it, you have to select one of the options. When I asked about this, the waitress said she’d ask management, and then she never returned. After a few minutes, I just paid and left. Very shady that they pull this on you. You’d think 20% on a $300 bill would suffice, but I guess not.

   Lafayette Miami is a true gem--an upscale yet cozy spot with excellent service and a chic, stylish ambiance. The live saxophone music adds the perfect touch, creating an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. Every dish was outstanding. I started with the deviled eggs topped with caviar, which were rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The New York Strip Wagyu was cooked to perfection--tender, juicy, and packed with incredible depth of flavor. The bricalini (broccolini) was a perfect side, adding a nice contrast to the richness of the meal. From start to finish, Lafayette delivers on all fronts--flawless food, elegant decor, and a vibe that makes you want to stay all night. Highly recommend.

   I visited Lafayette on Valentine’s Day, a day when many restaurants struggle with food quality and service. Unfortunately, Lafayette seemed to fall short even by those standards. I had to send my steak back three times because it was cold—something that’s simply unacceptable, regardless of the holiday. On the third attempt, the steak was finally somewhat warm, but by then, I had lost patience and decided to eat it with my cold fries, which had been making laps around the restaurant before finally making their way to my table. The manager did apologize, but that was the extent of the response—nothing more. Please do better in the future.

   What an amazing place! Impeccable service, great wine list. I’ll be a bit highly priced, amazing perfectly cooked food. Lafayfette is not to be missed. The highlight of our evening was Paul the Sommelier! I highly recommend the filet mignon and creamed corn side dish.

   This place is disappointing compared to what it used to be when it was El Tucan… it has no personality , concept or specific theme. The server didn’t really care to give us an introduction or explain what is the restaurant about…. Just a common menu like every other restaurant in the area with a few caviar sprinkled items. Didn’t explain the drinks either.. just “hi what can i get for you “ & the service charge is automatic so I’m obligated to tip mediocre service…. My second course came before I even finished the first course and I had to ask the runner to change the silverware and my plate because they were just going to drop all the food in the middle of the table with the dirty plates and unfinished starters….. This place is expensive for no reason at least add some entertainment, give better service and dim the lights more to add ambiance. Do better.

    The venue is beautiful. The service is great. The food wasn't good. The Cote De Boeuf was terrible. There are many better options for steak. We won't be back.
