BBQ ALWAYS, LIVE MUSIC OFTEN

Located on the corner of 2nd and Guadalupe Streets in downtown Austin (a block away from Town Lake & Moody Theater), in a historic 1873 Victorian building once home to J.P. Schneider general store, Lamberts features modern Texas classics including expertly smoked barbecue, grilled prime steaks, simple yet elegant apps and mains, and homestyle sides. We are open daily for lunch and dinner.

The two-story dining room features an open kitchen, two bars (with one of the best whiskey selections in town) as well as an outdoor patio surrounding our Mill Scale smoker. The design includes black leather banquettes and repurposed sinker pine table tops. The vibe is laid-back Austin and not afraid to get a little rowdy at times—especially when there's live music Upstairs at Lamberts.

*If booking an outdoor table, please note that patio seating is weather contingent. During those times, we will do our best to accommodate indoor seating depending on availability.

Join us on Friday, February 14 for a Valentine's Day (aka Galentine's Day) celebration as we welcome THOMAS CSORBA to the stage to perform classic country love songs and originals. Bring a date, bring friends, bring anyone! Thomas & his band will perform two 60 minute sets with dinner seatings available for each. Guests may reserve tables for groups of 2, 4 or 6 and enjoy full dinner service in an intimate performance setting. Doors will open 5:30pm for the first performance and 8pm for the second show. Note: dinner & drinks are sold separately. Tickets are non-refundable. All sales are final.

Enjoyed dinner on the patio. Nice higher end bbq option. Everything was delicious and very good service.

This was one of the best meals of my entire life. I understand that us quite the statement but I mean it. I was in Austin for work and a few days play too. I first ate here with my husband. We ordered the prime ribeye, brisket, and mashed potato side. This ribeye was the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. The flavor was beyond. So delicious. The brisket was so tender, juicy, and flavorful l. This topped the brisket at Terry Blacks. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and perfect. We sat on the patio and the smoker filled the air. It was magnificent. Because our experience was exceptional, I brought five co-workers back a few days later. The praises were through the roof. This time I ordered myself the prime ribeye, it is huge but I had to have it again! We shared the burnt ends queso. We would buy it by the gallon if we could. It was some of the best queso we had ever had. The mac and cheese is also worth ordering. Delicious! This time we were seated downstairs but you can still enjoy the live band being played upstairs. Coincidentally, I had the same server both times and she was great. Friendly and attentive. I'd like to give Yelp the honors for introducing us to Lamberts but it didn't even show up. All praises go to Dax Shepherd and his Armchair Expert podcast discussing how Matthew McConaughey took him to Lamberts and it was the best ribeye experience he had in his life. So thank you McConaughey and Dax for the recommendation. It changed my life and I will need to get back to Austin just for Lamberts!

As usual, excellent food. Because of the noise level downstairs, one needs to be precise with the servers - so Vodka martini needs to be vodka dry martini up front as well as after.

Lovely spot downtown, reservations needed. Perfect dinner prior to show at the Moody Theatre. Ribeye may be best steak we’ve had. All dishes/sides/drinks were delicious.

We ordered several types of ribs dishes and none of them were actually good. Some were under cooked, and others, the meat was a bit smelly. We will not come back.

The food was good. Huge portions - definitely think about the family style option for both appetizers an entrees. Flavors were good, though some proteins were a bit salty for my tastes. The service was mediocre. Our server touched the table twice, once to take our apps/drinks order and once to take our entrees order. We never saw her again and instead had to flag one of the people who was delivering our food from the kitchen. She was great and very responsive, but I question the organization of service. All in all, a good meal, but nothing exceptional. It's worth noting that this was one experience, and I'd want to visit Lambert's again before drawing too many sweeping conclusions.

We had the brisket, sausage, beet salad, mac and cheese, fries, broccoli, and slaw. All of the food was delicious. The banana pudding was thick and not very banana-y (heavy on cinnamon) but was still good. But don't expect traditional banana pudding. Not too crowded or too loud.

Had a wonderful meal and very good service at Lamberts for a recent celebration dinner with my wife. I still love this place after all these years in Austin. It is a gem. We will be back!
