LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio. Saturday night reservation at Latha exceeded our expectations in every way! From the service to the food to the fabulous music. The food is something special and I swear they must add magic to their cocktails because I tried several (don’t judge!) and every single one was better than the last! The owner is a wonderfully sweet woman who floats about, checking on everyone and radiating pure joy. If we hadn’t had plans for after dinner we could have sat on that patio all evening. 10/10 worth every penny spent and more! Get the shrimp and plantain chip appetizer when you go! You will be singing their praise, just as I am!

This was the best meal I had in Phoenix, hands down. So much genuine love and energy in that building, and it comes through in the food. Do yourself a favor and get the oxtail.

Latha was an enjoyable experience. The food was delicious. The drinks were great, and the dessert was so amazing! Our server was very tentative and was able to provide recommendations.

I have dined at this restaurant multiple times, and it never fails to impress. The ambiance is inviting, and the customer service is consistently excellent. While the portions are not oversized, this is true to its fine dining experience, where quality takes precedence over quantity. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, with flavors that are well above average, making every visit a delight.

I'm an Arizona native and 10 out of 10 recommend this beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown Phoenix. African, Caribbean and Brazilian inspired cuisine! Live music! Shopping with local artisans!

This was a wonderful time and the food was amazing. I will be back. I loved the live music. The music was outside and I was seated inside and couldn’t hear it. Next time I want to be by the live music. The uncle nearest old fashion was it! I really want to try every drink on the menu it all sounded amazing. One of my favorite apps was the watermelon salad l. That was so refreshing.

This was our second time at this restaurant and our group quickly decided we needed to come back. Service, ambience and the food were superb. The food has such a different approach and taste, it is sublime. BRAVO!!

Great food! A menu like nothing else in Phoenix and couple that with a creative bar is a wonderful combination. All food is fresh and delicious but save room for dessert. There are only two choices and we ordered both and split them between four of us.
