With seating for up to 14 guests, the room pays homage to the official flower of Vietnam and is anchored by a Jonas Wickman mural rendered in gentle tropical tones. Exclusive tasting menus with wine pairings prepared by Culinary Director Nicole Routhier and Executive Chef Hassan Obaye are available by request. Transport your guests to another time and place for your next corporate or social gathering. The lounge area provides an intimate setting with black and white photos of 1920's Saigon, potted palms, Oriental rugs and ambient music setting the stage for your experience - perfect for a reception style event or a seated dinner for up to 125 guests. We celebrated my husbands birthday at Le Colonial and it was outstanding! What a unique experience at this lovely restaurant, so perfect for a special occasion. We started out with an exotic Lychee Martini, refreshing and not too sweet. For our appetizer we had the chicken dumplings, so good. As our special occasion birthday dinner, we ordered the whole flash fried red snapper with a spicy/sweet garlic sauce, excellent and plenty for two. The dessert, chocolate cake with rum flambee, a must for a birthday celebration, just made the evening! Special thanks to General Manager, Paul Dunn, and the entire staff for making this such a wonderful night at one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta!!

We have been to La Colonial a couple of times in the past and we love the food and the environment. Once again, food options did not disappoint and the service was stellar as always. This being said, the wine list is ridiculously high priced and not in keeping with the "small plate" concept here *which is quite reasonable. While I understand that wines (especially by the glasss) are a major profit center it's our opinion that there should be a relationship between food costs and wine to accompany dishes. With wine by the glass at around $20 and bottles starting at $70 or $80 this is skewed towards unrealistic profits on wine...Shame on you!!

Our waiter tonight was Corey. Corey was knowledgeable of the menu and his recommendations were great. The dumplings are delicious, the bee tart is an acquired but tasty. The guacamole is what makes it good. The egg roll was delicious and the duck was very tender. The sticky rice was flavorless , however that sir fry rice was excellent. Please order the lychee martinis it was freaking amazing , this is my favorite drink when I see it I always get it. This time it was magic in a cup. I know this place during the spring is beautiful,I am definitely looking to return during spring for brunch.

The starters were very good but for once the mains exceeded in taste and presentation. Usually you can count on the starters to be flavor packed and you wish you had a double order of that for your main. But in this case it was reversed.The shaking beef ("our most popular dish") was amazing. There's a reason it's popular. The seared tuna and salmon were outstanding. I perhaps give the edge to the tuna. The rolls and dumplings and salads were terrific. They just couldn't hold a candle to the big plates. The staff is efficient and friendly.The large, heavy drinking groups ordering the specialty whole fried fish can get a bit loud. The room is beautiful, dark and lit in a way that you don't feel the people around you. It's also great at lunch. We'll be back.
