Le DeSales, a restaurant located in South Dupont, across the street from the historic Mayflower Hotel. Upon reopening in December, Michelin-starred Chef Raphael François has brought back his most popular dishes while teaming with award winning Sushi Master Noriaki Yasutake (formally SEI Restaurant) presenting French/Asian cuisine, including a full sushi menu (signature Fish and Chips Roll) in an informal, cozy, and romantic setting. The specialized wine list includes diversified appellations encompassing regions as unexpected as Macedonia and Portugal, with a concise focus on France, Italy, and California. Also offering a sake menu and selections of Japanese Whiskeys. Le DeSales is available for large parties, semi-private events, and buyouts. Outdoor seating is available, weather permitting.
No reservation is needed for Happy Hour. Please walk in and one of our friendly staff will find you a spot.

So stupid loud. The place needs some soft surfaces or acoustic paneling. Have to shout across the table of 2 to be heard by my date. OpenTable labels the noise level “energetic” which is not quite right. “Really stinking LOUD” would be a better label.

We live in Northern VA and have come to Les DeSales twice in the past two months after having discovered it online and not even having a recommendation. We adore it! The menu is intricate and the staff cordial and attentive. We thoroughly enjoy both the French and Japanese dishes, and the drinks are superb. Definitely addicted to the Sashima Pizza...can't wait to come back!

The Maître d' was welcoming. My meal was ok. $15 deviled eggs (2) were nothing special, sorry I ordered them. However, the fish & chips roll and octopus were tasty. I am hard of hearing according to my wife but the noise level was so loud it ruined my dining experience. There are plenty of other restaurants within walking distance that deserve my business and I will avail myself of them.

This was a most pleasant surprise. I saw high google ratings but fairly low prices so I wasn’t expecting great. This was great. Wonderfully cooked branzino with a crisp outside and soft fluffy white perfectly cooked fish inside. Good fish and chips with a kick. Fabulous onion rings. The chocolate tarts and sorbet were delicious. Service was good but also extremely helpful. I would come again … and again.
