Le Yaca began in 1964 in Courchevel, a tiny, country village in the French Alps. Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans, they told the hopeful restaurateurs they were crazy to think people would drive eight kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for three months and then decided, “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “il n’y a qu’a le faire,” which basically means, “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag, but the name caught on with customers who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States and opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought Le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge," and to top it all off, “Alain Ducass

    Always the best. The presentation of food is excellent. Menu choices the best. Staff are amazing with excellent attention to detail. I have frequented this restaurant many times and always have the best experience

    We always enjoy Le Yaca for special occasions! The only disappointment last night was the soup…supposed to be a tomato, apple, cumin but we start enjoying the soup and not tasting these flavors…it was asparagus, as they ran out of the tomato soup! Soup still delicious but as I told our server…What if someone was allergic to asparagus 😬! This won’t stop us from returning…great food & service 👍❤️😋

    Food was EXCELLENT. Anthony (our server) was OUTSTANDING! I had 2 filets, wife had sea bass. Both dishes were terrific, prepared to perfection. The onion soup is the best I have ever had (and I make a pretty good one myself) But this one is FANTASTIC.

    Our waiter Minh G. was very kind. He made sure we had everything we needed. He kept us with bread, which I love. The food was delicious. I love the chocolate soufflé it came with the Lamb meal. The lamb meal is only available on Thursdays. I also had their chocolate martini. It was very good. It’s a very clean restaurant and it’s so cute too. I would visit again.

    Went here for our 1 year and it was amazing. our server was terrific, our food was amazing, and exceeded our expectations tremendously. the best restaurant we have been to!

    We had an excellent dinner on New Years day and never mentioned that it was my wife's birthday later on this month. We they surprised her with a candle and happy Birthday chocolate. Such great service an taking care of their valued guests.
