To welcome in 2025 we are offering a special lunch and pre-theatre menu. £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 (plus service). It is an amazing bargain for the whole of January.

L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French dishes. Favourite dishes include French onion soup, Lobster bisque, oysters, Tournedos "Rossini", grilled lobster, Chateaubriand and of course snails ! L'Escargot was voted one of the most romantic restaurants in London and is a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

If you want to come in just for a drink, upstairs there is a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and a bar snack menu.

The restaurant has welcomed celebrities such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. and was a favourite of Princess Diana

L'Escargot is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

Had a superb business lunch today at L’Escargot - the food was sublime, ditto the service, space - everything Perfect venue for a business lunch.

A genuine, authentic French experience. Welcoming and comfortable, great staff who clearly enjoy their work (apart from the guy at the bar who visibly spent his time looking at his mobile phone…). The food and wine were executed perfectly without any pretentiousness. And the snails were glorious!

My daughter and I recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch at L'Escargot. We chose from the Prix Fixe menu and all the dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely divine! The Warm goat's cheese tartine with figs and honey to start was extremely good. The freshly baked truffle swirls included in the gorgeous bread basket were out of this world!! We both very much enjoyed fish for our main course and dessert was the best Tarte au Citron I've ever tasted! My daughter said the Poire Condé was delicious, too. Impeccable service and a lovely ambience in the delightfully elegant restaurant made for a truly fabulous lunch. We can't wait to visit again!

Pre theatre dinner - seated in the ‘front’ room which had a lovely relaxed ambience. It’s really fun to watch all the denizens of Soho walking past! Theatre menu was ridiculously good value at £25 per person with the quality (and quantity!) of food being excellent. Slight confusion with the wine that was handled very well by the manager. Highly recommended.
