To welcome in 2025 we are offering a special lunch and pre-theatre menu. £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 (plus service). It is an amazing bargain for the whole of January.

L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French dishes. Favourite dishes include French onion soup, Lobster bisque, oysters, Tournedos "Rossini", grilled lobster, Chateaubriand and of course snails ! L'Escargot was voted one of the most romantic restaurants in London and is a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

If you want to come in just for a drink, upstairs there is a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and a bar snack menu.

The restaurant has welcomed celebrities such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. and was a favourite of Princess Diana

L'Escargot is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

A Parisian Gem in the Heart of London As a lover of fine food and impeccable service, L'Escargot exceeded all of our expectations. I enjoyed a delightful midday lunch on a bustling Saturday with my girlfriend, an avid Francophile and discerning foodie. The restaurant, brimming with character and a charming buzz, offered a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance. The exquisite three-course meal, paired with carefully selected wines, was an absolute treat. Each dish was full of flavour and the presentation immaculate The warm, crusty bread basket, baked in-house, was a delightful prelude to the culinary journey. The authenticity of the cuisine and the attentive service did not get missed by my Normandy love. The elegant interior, steeped in history, and the impeccable service provided by the attentive staff created an unforgettable dining experience. A heartfelt thank you to L'Escargot for a truly memorable Parisian afternoon in the heart of London."

Fast attentive service. Probably the best duck confit I've ever had. The steak with foie gras and morel was absolutely pricey, but absolutely delicious. Wish we had room for dessert!

There is normally lobster on the menu which my sister loves there was none on this occasion but they were happy to order 2 in for us, the staff went above and beyond on this occasion, and as usual food, service, ambience and staff was fantastic, thank you.

The vegetarian options on the fixed price menu made an excellent top-class meal a good value pre-theatre meal. Service was excellent, food absolutely superb, and lovelky traditional ambience. Will definitely be returning.

As always at L'Escargot this was a fabulous occasion in every respect and on every level. Full of warmth, laughter, friendship and great conversation. The evening flowed by magnificently. So sorry to hear of L'Escargot's loss of Dorris the bulldog (apologies if incorrect breed). Dorris was the perfect ice breaker and added so much value to the restaurant and every occasion. We'll miss her! Gloriosa!
