Owned and operated by the friendly and energetic couple, Owen and Mindi McGlynn of Asheville Proper, they wanted to create an inviting and easygoing space just for locals, located in North Asheville, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown life.

As always, Little D's was delightful. Thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented. I ate every last bite and the only reason my husband left anything on his plate was because he was stuffed and wanted to leave room for dessert. We love having a casual, intimate fine dining experience in N. Asheville and look forward to eating there again soon.

We had heard great things about Little D's and we were not disappointed. We shared the beef tartare (a favorite of ours and hard to find), I had the shrimp pasta and hubby had the mahi mahi. All creative but not overwhelmed with excessive ingredients, and yummy! As the menu is small, I recommend taking a look online before going to see if there will be enough options for you. It is a little on the pricey side, but as I had a small plate as my main (and that's all I can eat!) it kept the bill down. Kind of nice not having leftovers for once! We left feeling full and well-taken care of (especially by our server Andrew) and will be back.

Little D’s is small restaurant with wonderful food. It has a sophisticated menu that makes us want to come back and sample more. Absolutely a terrific addition to North Asheville.

We loved the kale salad! Then we both enjoyed the fish entree. Chocolate cheesecake was divine to finish a lovely meal. Yum!

Following an authentically warm welcome from the host I was seated and took in my surroundings, which I’ll attempt to chronicle as eclectic upscale casual with scattered diner features. Ask me tomorrow and I’d likely describe it differently but the main thing was, it felt inviting and warm and cozy and worth the trip to the far side of Merrimon. - Service was flawless and effortlessly gracious; many thanks, Nicole. - The salad of charred beets and apples was a masterpiece of texture, taste and presentation. - The focaccia, from Asheville Proper, was decadently satisfying. Its dip tasted a bit off to me - perhaps too much sage? But hey, silly me, it’s described as a “sage dipping oil,” after all. - The accoutrements to the gnocchi were nice, but the dumplings themselves were unforgettable - pillowy morsels of otherworldly deliciousness with wonderfully crispy edges, oh my! - My apple tart was served with a “fall-spiced” ice cream that brought tears to my eyes - after a fall of unparalleled suffering and loss in Western North Carolina, its familiar, comforting flavors lifted my spirits with the promise of better autumns to come.

We had a good dinner last night. Starters weren’t hot enough but flavorful. Chicken pot pie needed more chicken and veg. I would have preferred that they charge more and add more chicken. Apple tart was great and Jay, our server very attentive.
