Okay, here goes: 1) The check-in area at the hostess stand is a fiasco. 2) Two-top tables are so close together you cannot get seated without some part of your body bumping into or hanging over the table next to you. You WILL be part of your neighbors' conversation 3) Cocktails are okay but pricey for what you get, and wine is way overpriced 4) Calamari app is great. My wife's Parmesan crusted salmon and two sides were very good. My pasta special - shrimp Alfredo on "local" pasta was mid. The pasta was gummy and the Alfredo sauce was just okay. The shrimp were flavorful 5) Our server, Lynn, was very good as were the other team members. 6) We had 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of Coppola chard, 1 app, 2 entrees, no dessert. Our bill with tip and 3% credit card surcharge(!) was $175. Definitely not a dining experience worth $175.7) They "helpfully" calculate the tip, and of course they include the 3% CC surcharge and ~12.5% taxes in the calculations. Restaurant owners: STOP IT!! 8) I won't return to Long Island Cafe. There are so many other area restaurant options that offer better food, better and more reasonably priced bar choices, better ambiance and an overall better dining experience.
