It was our first time there and it was wonderful. Served friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, great happy hour prices and atmosphere had good vibes. We sat on the patio which was so nice. The space heaters were on which made it very comfortable. Will definitely dine there again.

This was our third trip to the new Malnati’s in Surprise. Previously, food and service were great. This trip was not so. First, we had reservations and waited more than twenty minutes for a table. There were eight employees working the front door and seating customers. Most were just standing around. There were numerous tables available that were large enough to seat our party of five. Even when we were finally seated, there were still available clean and set tables and a lobby full of people waiting to be seated. We saw the same when we left. Empty tables but the lobby was full of people waiting to be seated. We ordered a deep dish with butter crust. The pizza was okay but the crust was hard as a rock. Definitely overcooked. Our previous visits had a nice, flaky crust. Also, the venue is loud to start with, but they need to turn down the hard rock music a bit. Very disappointed with this trip.

We had reservations so we’re seated right away but it was quite a long time before our server showed up. This was a recurring theme. She either had too many tables or was really new. By the time she came to take our order, we knew what we wanted, but she only wanted to take our drink and appetizer order. For a restaurant that warns you their pizza can take 45 minutes, getting the pizza order in fast would have made more sense. Overall, we love Lou’s pizza but this visit was really frustrating given such slow service.

We were so excited to see the opening of this restaurant. I am from Chicago and love the original Lou Malnati's deep dish. Unfortunately, this fell flat. First and foremost our reservation was made for traditional seating but because they were so busy they placed us outside. The seating was uncomfortable and it was fairly chilly outside. Our 82 year old Aunt and Uncle were very uncomfortable with both of those things and also the extremely loud traffic passing by. We could not even talk at a normal volume. Our server was pleasant and fairly attentive given how busy she was. It was the food that was the biggest issue. The deep dish was not deep. It lacked flavor and the crust itself was horrible. The mozzarella bites, deconstructed bruschetta, and Malnati salad were the best things we ate. The alfredo while somehow having so much sauce and cheese was extremely bland, the lasagna was small and unappealing, and the thin crust with sausage and mushroom was edible but not great. 2 people in our party got the grilled chicken sandwiches and we're happy with the taste...weird for a pizza place! We purchased $200 gift cards ahead of the reservation and got $50 in bonus gift cards. So, we are now trying to figure out who to give them to because we don't want to go back. Very disappointing!!

Happy hour is fantastic! Only issue 1 person in our group didn’t get their meal.when the server finally came back he apologized and said it would be another 30 mins for a thin pizza. We declined since we were all done.
