Located in the heart of York minutes away from York Minster and The Shambles, this stylish restaurant boasts elegant interiors and an attractive heated outdoor courtyard.

Lucia's patisserie is open from 9am every day. The main restaurant opens from 12pm.

I was visiting my daughter this evening and on my way the a19 was closed due to an incident and traffic diverted, told my daughter would be late to be informed we had an hour to eat our meal, my daughter ordered had a starter and ordered our mains. I arrived stressed as you can imagine. Food arrived was lovely tried to order desserts to be told had 20 mins it felt like we were on the clock when empty table next to us. Said could we have bill as felt rushed to be told we could get drinks in the bar, I really don’t get you have a couple of hours to have a meal why? People want to enjoy the night not feel like your on a conveyor belt.

Hi Wendy, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Here at Lucia we value all forms of feedback as it allows us to improve our services across the board. I'm sorry to hear you felt rushed towards the end of your meal, it is never our intention for guests to leave feeling disappointed. Especially during peak times, our servers have time allocations for each booking in order to accommodate our high volume of reservations. Whilst we try our hardest to extend times where possible, it's unfortunate we weren't able to on this occasion. Whilst your server did offer you desserts and a space to finish your evening at the bar, it's a shame to hear this option didn't work for you. A friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me. Said it was his favorite in York. I tried it and can see why he rated so highly. The food was first class as was the service. Wonderful ambient and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this place.

Every thing about our night out was great until they brought the bill...i know things have a service charge but to stand there and say you don't have to pay it if you dont want kinda puts you on the spot a bit ,but our service charge was £7 (which i didnt pay by the way ) as£7 pounds for carring 2 plates is a bit high and if service charge wasnt on the bill we would have left a tip at our discretion...as we are pensioners and i felt for the group of8 students opposite whose bill was over £200 pound making that £20...im just glad we did not order a bottle of champagne at £100 as that would have been another £10for carring it to the table .......bit naughty Lucias

Here at Lucia, like most restaurants in the city centre, we do include a 10% service charge on every bill which is then shared out proportionally with all the staff. We understand that guests have preferences on how they choose to spend their money which is why we make it optional. Please know we completely understand if guests would rather not pay the extra charge but I'm sorry if you felt put on the spot . We will look into how we can prevent guests feeling like this in future. Nevertheless I'm delighted to hear you had a wonderful evening at our restaurant and hope we can welcome you back soon! Absolutely delicious. Great presentation. A bit more than we would usually pay but it was hubby's 60th. I would strongly recommend this restaurant in the heart of York. Very pretty setting. 5 🌟

The pasta making was great fun. The chefs were very friendly and professional and knowledgeable. The whole experience was great and would love to do something similar again.

It’s a lovely place! Very pretty inside and aesthetically pleasing. Menu is great and lots to choose from. The kids menu is great value for money and the quality of food is excellent. My daughter really enjoyed her pasta dish. My husband and I had the burgers, which were tasty and hit the spot, but I wish I’d ordered other dishes because I had food envy when spying other meals going past the table! I’d definitely return!
