Conceived with legendary chef and food activist Alice Waters and led by acclaimed chef, writer, and cookbook author David Tanis, Lulu is a shared celebration of good food that is good for the planet. Lulu is a restaurant committed to prioritizing sustainability through local, regenerative food and design. Our mission focuses on procuring food directly from small, nearby farms practicing regenerative organic agriculture, which results in wholesome, delicious food grown using methods that combat the climate crisis.

Our restaurant is named after a wise Provencal cook, Lulu Peyraud, whose cooking and hospitality at Domaine Tempier in Bandol, France has always inspired David and Alice.

My husband and I dined at LuLu with our daughter and son-in-law after visiting the Hammer Museum and were exceedingly pleased with the experience. The food is superb and there are good choices for people with a variety of dietary preferences. The wine list is very well curated. Our server was terrific - personable, helpful and attentive. We were surprised when my dining companions' plates were removed while I was still eating, but that was the only service gaffe (not by our server and just a minor training issue). The ambiance is beautiful and there's a lot of space between tables, so noise is moderate and you can carry on a conversation easily. The price was commensurate with the quality and we were satisfied with the serving sizes. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

service was friendly but super slow. Felt forgotten and we were a party of 4. Food very light for the price. Great for lunch. Would not return for dinner.

The two times I have eaten at Lulu’s were two of the best meals I have ever had. Today’s meal lived up to my best memory of my first. The food was amazing-no exaggeration. The service was awesome-so kind as well as efficient. The ambience on the outside patio was wonderful. Everything was absolutely superb.

Fantastic dining experience. Creative menu and presentation. Salads are especially good! Tuesday night was Jazz Night so enjoyed the added bonus of live music while dining! Will be back very soon.

Loved having the live jazz trio there during dinner. Such a beautiful setting! Had a delicious pomegranate mocktail. Didn't feel the missing alcohol at all. We had a hard time choosing which salad to get, so we got both the goat cheese salad and the beets. The baby gem lettuce was so crisp with a zippy dressing. So glad we got both. Will definitely be back!
