Lumen Detroit at Beacon Park offers a unique dining experience in the heart of the city, blending modern architecture with a vibrant park setting. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling retractable windows and one of Detroit's largest outdoor patios, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor ambiance. Guests can enjoy seasonally inspired Modern American cuisine, craft cocktails, and an extensive bar selection, whether on the rooftop or by the cozy outdoor firepits. With its lively atmosphere and picturesque views of Beacon Park, Lumen is the perfect spot for any occasion.

We offer valet parking for $15 Wednesday-Sunday. There is also metered street parking available on a limited basis. Please note that reservations will be held for 15 minutes, after which they are subject to cancelation. We allot 2 hours per table for dining, after which we may ask for your table. Due to the possibility of inclement weather our patio tables are available on a first-come first-served basis.

    Our heated, full-service Private Chalets are currently available for reservations and can accommodate groups of up to 10. Please note that all Private Chalet reservations are subject to a $35 per person food and beverage minimum (tax & gratuity not included) which is due at the time of booking. This $35 per person charge will be deducted from the bill the night of your reservation. All Private Chalet reservations are allotted 2 hours for dining, after which we may ask for the table. Because of limited availability and high demand, your 2-hour time begins at the time of your reservation. A 20% gratuity may be added to ALL Chalet reservations. Chalet Reservations are refundable up to 48 hours in advance, after which all sales are final.

    I love that Lumen kept the winter outdoor eating. It’s so fun and beautiful. We had 5 people eating and sat comfortably. I wouldn’t do over 6. I don’t like the requirement to prepay $35 per person to go towards the bill, most places don’t require this. Our service was great, no complaints. However, the food was mostly disappointing especially for the cost. The appetizers were good with the wings being the star. We ordered everything wings and meatballs, we also split the farro salad with chicken. The main course was off. My mom liked the shrimp, my dad liked the walleye but didn’t think it was amazing, the steak was not good at all. I couldn’t eat it. I got the tuna and it was so dry like it had been microwaved? It was a bizarre texture. And the lamb chops were very tender but had a strange uncommon taste. We got all the desserts: the brownie was the group favorite. I liked the cheesecake but it was everyone’s 3rd choice. The banana pie came in as 2nd for 3 of us. The bill was $500 and it was not close to that from the perspective of paying good money to get a delicious meal. This is our second time coming to Lumen and both times were mid level from a taste perspective. Beautiful scenery and great way to enjoy Detroit.

    Food was fantastic! Service was impeccable! We had dinner in the chalet and although it was very cold outside, the chalet was very warm. Definitely will become one of my regular dining spots.

    I was quite disappointed with the food, especially considering the price. The chicken seemed more like a frozen patty, and the steak didn't leave much of an impression. However, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. It could be a nice spot for drinks, but I wouldn't recommend it for a meal.

    Being New Years Eve, I expected mediocre food and mediocre service. There were 4 of us dining, and each one of us, had a different entree. All four entrees were delicious! Our server Dominique was excellent. Ambiance was magical. Definitely recommend 💯

    This was our first time to Lumen it was a great experience. Dominique was our server and she was wonderful. Food was marvelous and served timely and exactly as described. We will be back

    Everything was superb at Lumen. From the design to the dessert, this is a winner. Our meal was excellent, and our service from Rylee was outstanding (sorry if I spelled your name wrong). And dessert, wow! Don't pass up the butter cookie banana cream pie. That is worth the trip alone.

    The food and service was amazing. The ambiance was top tier and so happy to find a spot that offers valet for an additional price. 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 beers, 2 cocktails and a kids meal. A little over $200 with 29% gratuity included.
