Just off the High Street, Lussmanns St Albans is situated next to the magnificent 11th-century Cathedral and Abbey Church and overlooks the Vintry Gardens. Our light and spacious modern restaurant occupies three floors, with an intimate private dining area. We are within walking distance of Verulamium Park, with its Roman remains, and close to the bustling city centre and boutique shops.

    Always excellent - never had a bad meal, never had bad service, always want half the things on the menu. A real favourite!

    Best restaurant in St Albans bar none. Although full the service was attentive and the food superb.

    Incredible food as always. Francesco our waiter was really nice and personable. He apologised for any delays but to be honest it was nice not to be rushed on what’s usually one of the busiest nights.

    Excellent service and wonderful food! A very popular venue from what we saw albeit we were visitors to St Albans and went there on a recommendation.

    Another excellent meal at one of our favourite local restaurants. Met up with foodie friends we had not seen for many years and they were very impressed! The mid winter menu is good value - the chicory, pear and walnut starter is refreshing and filling with the cheese. Two of us chose the shepherd’s pie as a main course; again excellent but portion size far too big so only ate half so that we could enjoy bread and butter pudding and crumble. Service was good, not rushed or intrusive. The restaurant interior has been refreshed - we were seated in the ground floor area as it was lunchtime, and noticed that the previously slippery tiled floor had been replaced. Will be booking another visit shortly.

    We really enjoyed our meal except that the carrots were overcooked and very soft. But, although we received our first course quite quickly, after waiting some time we had to attract the attention of a member of staff to ask for the dessert menu. Also, the tables were so close together we found it difficult to have a conversation due to the level of noise nearby.

    Delicious food, good service by friendly staff, in a nice setting - a great place for a meal before a concert at St Albans Cathedral.

    We’ve been eating here for around 20 years and we often order the same dish. It is consistently good, the fixed price menu is great value and we would recommend it to anyone.
