   I ordered the Fish Stew which arrived with mussels and other ?white fish and diced vegetables but in a dark brown sauce which I found strange and slightly unappetising with fish, the white fish was therefore brown and the taste of the fish seemed to be obliterated. I wouldn’t order it again. The apple crumble was nice with ice cream. My friend ordered the Halibut with she said was excellent but agreed that my fish looked unappetising as it was brown.

   We enjoyed a very nice meal at Lussmans St Albans yesterday evening. Pleasant ambience, good service. We sat upstairs, it was quiet initially as we were early but the noise level increased a little bit as the restaurant filled up. It was ok though. Just one comment - it would be nice to have more vegetables with the fish main courses but the food was good and nicely presented.

   As always, sumptuous food, great location and nice ambiemce. Definitely worth a visit.

   Welcome on arrival was good. I was ahead of my companions - water brought to the table and also menus prior to friends arriving. Pleasant staff and service was good. I had the steak which I have had before - nicely sliced and rare. Good value meal.

   Food was nice as was decor, found the piano music was somewhat annoying, our waiter was very brash and not the warm service we wanted. There are definitely better restaurants in St Albans

   Lussmans is fabulous we have been going there since it opened many years ago. Our favourite starter has always been the camembert so we were pleasantly surprised to see it back on the menu. We were even given the recipe many years ago. No where else could match Lussmans original Camembert starter. However, we were a bit disappointed as it was half the size it used to be and didn't have the usual flavourings in it. Apart from that we had a lovely evening and the rest of the food was fantastic.
