                                                                                                          I started dining at Maggiano’s around 1995 in the Chicago area. The service was second to none, portions were huge (They used to have a 1/2 portion and full size portion big enough for a second meal). Customization of your pasta was never an issue. As I reflect upon my dining experience 30 years later I was disappointed all around. What used to be a container of olive oil left on your table and a basket of bread with a variety of different breads and bread sticks is now just a small loaf and no variety of breads, no olive oil in the table anymore. My drinks came about 15 minutes after ordering them, the timing of the salad (only one soup was sadly available) was off. The appetizer came too soon and you could tell it was sitting for some time. The drink my wife ordered wasn’t good and needed to be sent back. My regular dish of linguine with white clam sauce was lacking in the number of clams it used to come with. My wife’s customization of her pasta was also a fail. The chef was too lazy to use a fresh Alfredo and my wife was surprised to see muscles, chicken and clams in her shrimp scampi. The service may have been the highlight of the dining experience. To summarize my thoughts and feelings is a sad reflection of what Maggiano’s used to be and what is has now become. I feel that this might now be one step above Olive Garden and that someone may want to actually experience or talk to someone who used to enjoy the Maggiano’s experience of times of old. It’s sadly lost its soul.

                                                                                                          The experience was not as great as I would have liked. Waiter did not bring out bread to table and didn’t ask if we wanted anything to drink for 20 mins. I finally asked another employee for help and he said we are busy sorry. Food was good I think the Alfredo sauce could be a little less watery but meatballs and crispy mozzarella were great. Overall it wasn’t the worst experience but could definitely be better.

                                                                                                          Our hostess was attentive to our seating needs. Our wait staff were prompt and professional. The quality of the food was delectable and delightful. Our only complaint is the price for an Italian meal in south Orange County here at Maggiano’s.
